If im being honest than the Richat Structure or Eye of the Sahara is the most likely place if the Ancient City of Atlantis.. Of all the places to consider the Richat structure actually has more in common with Plato’s description of Atlantis than almost ALL of the places so called “experts” say are possible.. AND that is crazy to think because the Richat basically has NOTHING left AND YET still has so many signs that point to it possibly being the sight of the ancient city of Atlantis! So just IMAGINE what that area looked like sooo many thousands of years ago.

I always thought the Azores and the Canary islands were potential candidates, simply due to their geographic locations. But we may never know for sure.

Atlantis was beyond the Pillars of Hercules BECAUSE from GREECE you had to use a BOAT to get there AND it was EASIEST to sail out of the Mediterranean, around the Coast of Africa and up the river to Atlantis in present-day MAURITANIA.

Rather than sailing to the Northern Coasts of Africa (see you already needed a boat) and either crossing the Sahara or traversing the Atlas Mountains (named after King Atlas both of historical Ancient Mauritania AND Atlantis the CIty of Atlas) just staying in the boat was EASIER.
Then you could get to the ISLAND of Atlantis surrounded by 3 rings of water and 2 rings of land and then LOTS MORE LAND and the Atlas Mountains. Just like The Richat would have been at that time in history BEFORE a huge TIdal Wave (like the Tsunami in Japan etc) rushed in and knocked everything down and killed everybody. The stones used to build all of the buildings are STILL THERE and people STILL use them to make homes.

Why would a Nation on an ISLAND in the middle of an OCEAN have several CHARIOTS?
They wouldn't.
But a CITY built on an Island (a natural structure formed by volcanic activity) surrounded by lots of LAND would have tons of Chariots for their Army.
STOP LOOKING FOR ATLANTIS... we KNOW where it is.
At least where Atlantis the CITY is... the 10 CITY NATION (if it exists) is still out there but the CITY was located on The Richat in present day Mauritania. 100%.

basically if we progress away from religious order/constraints without controls causes world disastrous events. does this mean that progress without conformity or moral compass due to religious teachings causes mutual destruction? what a question to contemplate. im a confirmed christian but have grown to believe that the higher power is an idea that helps us grow and better ourselves. anyone else thinks this am curious.
