STEP 1: Calculate Lean Body Mass
First Determine Body Fat Weight With:
Body Fat Weight = Total Body Weight x Body Fat Percentage

Then:
Lean Body Mass = Total Body Weight - Body Fat Weight

STEP 2: Calculate Ideal Body Weight Based On Goal Body Fat Percentage
Goal Body Weight = Current Lean Body Mass / (1 - 0.25)

I don’t really worry about the scale anymore…it’s more about the size of the clothing I’m in, and the activities I can/can’t do.

This came at a perfect time for me. I did the calculations and technically my ideal weight based on my LBM would be slap bang in the middle of overweight using BMI, however I am naturally muscular and weight training on top of that. Thanks so much for the peace of mind and direction- I now know a rough end goal 🥰

First, you look amazing, Michelle. Second, i wish I'd seen this video 8 years ago, i wanted to loose that last 10lbs so did keto/intermittent fasting which worked and i loved it but i did it for too long and lost muscle and recked my metabolism and then hit 50 went into menopause and gained it all back plus extra 10 more lbs..
Everything you talked about is so true..im 54 now and working slowly at it and doing everything you're talking about, and im seeing results... Thank u for your honest, yet wise videos❤

Oooh WOW!! Instilling me with some instant new found motivation and much needed surety!

Did my calculation and ended up with 75kg vs what normal girl with my height should be 65kg... And this feels soooo freaken doable and realistic at my stage of journey and for my body build and everything.

I've been basically been stuck between 80-85kgs for the last year now (given i started at 107kg 2.5 years ago). I still maintain my fitness levels and hit the gym everyday and eat right 80% of the time. But lost some believe in myself because scale not moving for so long even thou clothes sit better and get compliments of how I look. I know I'm lacking on some food discipline to break this platu I'm in.

You have given me so much tools, advice and learned skills over the years and it never failed.

This video is just gold for me, learning something new and having seen an calculation confirming it.

Thank you for even existing! Michelle, you are truly the best!

I don’t have a question but a THANK YOU!
I struggle with that number on the scale every day. I track everything you mentioned food, exercise, lifestyle etc. Yes people generally say I look great( although another 5 lbs of fat from my body wouldn’t hurt-this is my inner voice) at 58 it’s hard to ditch the last of it! Menopause sucks and I feel like I am in a battle with that part especially!

Thank you for all of your helpful videos, Michelle! I’ve been on a body recomp journey since last November and it’s such a slower process than traditional weight loss that sometimes I feel defeated and want to fall back into old bad habits (ie the quick fixes that never last), but your videos motivate me to stay on track and trust the process. That said I feel like I’m currently at a standstill with progress and I’m 2% away from my goal body-fat %. It’s like my body is comfortable at the weight it is and doesn’t want to let go of anything else lol. In your experience what helps achieve that last few pounds of fat loss? Is it mostly diet, is it mostly weight training, or a combo of both? Might be something to discuss in a future video! Thanks again!
