Only thing I wasn't expecting was them going back down to save the scout instead of Driller just throwing C4 down there to "help"

As a scout player I can confirm that's what every mission feels like for me.

We've all had that moment playing scout where we miss the platform, take massive fall damage, and proceed to get bombarded by glyphid artillery

The quintessential Deep Rock experience, distilled into a single minute. Incredible

As a gunner I felt that slow zip line climb in my soul.

Lars killed it on those backgrounds, absolutely in love with the way they look. Such wonderful rendering that really compliments the character animation and style

the almost-PAINFULLY-slow ziplines are absolutely perfect (as is the whole video)

Remember kids:
"Scout without hoverboots is a scout without legs!"

Something I love about this animation is that the gunner rolls his eyes, but still goes back to save the scout. Like “dumbass, I’m coming back for you tho.” True dwarfmenship

What a successful outing for the whole team! They did come sort of vaguely close to what they were going for, after all

I was not expecting that.
Amazing animation

Tips and tricks from a Scout player.
Tip 1. Aim at the Wall, Not the plaforms.

Tip 2. Always have either the hoverboots skill, OR the Dash skill.
One stops your momentum saving from fall damage, the other extends how far you can fall (While Active) before taking fall damage making you take less damage total and pairs with the grappling hook by boosting travel speed AND gives you more mid air maneuverability.
(Dash is the second one, double click the "sprint" command to activate it)

Tip 3. Speed 4 Lyfe. Can't die to bugs if they can't catch up.

Tip 4. Keep speech and music volumes low. You WILL get grabbed if you don't hear everything coming. And you WILL be alone when it grabs you. Curse of Scout is real.

Tip 5. Flying pickaxe slam attacks are deadly. Don't forget you have a "break all armor and minable surface classes Free" button And the highest mobility in the game to get you close enough to use it.

Tip 6. Get your timing down. If the room's high enough you don't need to land to grapple again

Tip 7. Become Mountain Goat.
No ledge is too narrow. Clambering mechanics are Great for resetting fall damage and stalling for the recharge between grapples.

Tip 8. You're Tarzan, not Spider-Man.
Launching yourself with a grapple is often safer (as long as you watch where you will land) than going all the way to your grapple point. It sticks, you don't.

Tip 9.
Ground = Wall.
Falling sucks, shoot a grapple into the floor and don't let go.
Zero fall damage every time.

And as always, ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS.

DRG is overall one of my all-time favorite games. It’s just too good

0:47 sums up my first time as scout in this game honestly.

When Ghost Ship Games calls it a masterpiece, you know it’s good.

Fun fact, Scouts all come equipped with internal C4 magnets in their chest, this is why they are attracted to explosives.

Yes. Yes, the game is exactly like this. To anyone who hasn't played this game: DO IT. FOR ROCK AND STONE.

I see my favorite little indie animator has been delving into the deep dark mines of Hoxxes
