I have left a dwarf behind. As we all pilled into the pod, the dwarf who had arrived first covered our retreat only to be downed after everyone else was inside. Watching the door close on him as he fell was the most heart wrenching moment I've experienced in a game, and the shame of having left someone behind, even unintentionally, will never leave me.

I have been last in the pod every time since. If a dwarf is getting left behind on my mission, it's going to be me, paying forward the gift I was granted.

For Karl
Rock and Stone

That feeling when Greenbeard goes down, you and the two others just turn around and make a mad dash to the Greenbeard to save him. Greenbeard is perplexed and asks "Why?". The answer is simple "No dwarf left behind.

I was once that greenbeard.

It's just a stupid game about dwarves
It's just a stupid game about mining
It's not a game about cooperation
It's not a game about friends sticking together
It's not about risking your life to leave no one behind
It's not about having fun
It's not about the memories
It's not about all the times you got drunk
It's not about the blood sweat and tears to reach that shiny new promotion
It's not about Molly, Bosco, or Doretta
It's not about the barrels
It's not about mission control
It's not the best coop game of a generation...

Do not listen to the elvish lives above. Rock and Stone, brothers! And most importantly leave no dwarf behind!

I cannot express the pure BROTHERHOOD you feel when someone behind the team goes down....
Just to have the WHOLE team turn right around and get that man back up through hell and high water.
Rock and Stone brothers!

One time I got horribly lost during extract. So I picked my way through rock for almost 100 meters to the drop pod. With less than a minute left I wouldn't have made it, we didn't have a driller, but the gunner picked his way out and met up with my tunnel. Beautiful bastard that man.

i remember saving this greenbeard once. He got trapped back in the cavern and couldn't find his way out. Everyone else already sat in the pod waiting, watching his health slowly trickle away. I couldn't just stand by and watch a friend die... With only a minute left by the time i got near em, I resorted to carving my way towards him. near death, in a dark cave surrounded by spiders, he saw my angry little head pop out from the floor with a shield generator and a revved minigun.

We both made it back.
Remember miners, rock and stone and you're never alone!

One thing I love about this game is that 90% of the cosmetics are not behind a pay wall

The more I see of DRG, the more I’m convinced that it’s the direct successor to TF2’s legacy. They’re nowhere close to being in the same genre or style, but this game more than any other has truly captured the essence of what TF2 is all about: teamwork, camaraderie, and endless replayability.

This game may not have some trendy mechanics. It may not be the best game in everyone's opinion. But this game has something what lack many others. This game has a soul in it. When you play it, you know, deep in your heart, that this game is special for you and you will never be able to find something even a bit similar to it. Rock and Stone to the bone!

No game has better comradery and brotherhood than Deep Rock Galactic. Everyone you meet is instantly a friend and everyone has each others backs.

It's even more glorious when you are someone who has been around for the ENTIRE thing like I have.. Been playin since the closed alpha test days of DRG and it's like watching your child grow up and leave for college.

I accidentally joined a duo that accidentally left the lobby on public and when I told them I'll just leave because I don't want to ruin their run they begged me to stay, truly a no dwarf left behind moment

as a certified greenbeard who’s had the game installed for ~48h (as I’m writing this) I can confirm this community has the most gigachad players.
there’s been several times already when complete randoms all 3 come back to pick me up and drag me to the pod on hazard 4 instead of just leaving me dead on the ground 100m from the pod.
o7 to all you greybeards, I’m so happy I finally decided to get into this game it’s super worth it.
ROCK AND STONE to all of you, and I will NEVER leave a dwarf behind

Someday, you will complete your final mission. Support will end as GSG goes on to other projects. The brothers we've dived with will move on with their lives or go on to other games. Deep Rock Galactic will become a memory. But for now, Hoxxes has equalized and brought us all together, no matter who or what we are. We're all at the bottom of the food chain in caves that are as rich with minerals as they are with danger.

Today, as yesterday; We fight, we mine, for Rock and Stone!

I've seen the full DRG gambit, missions failed because we all went back to save one dwarf, missions where only the scout gets out because everyone else went down going back, missions where the scout and another dwarf are left behind because the scout revived them but neither could make it back, missions where you tell your teammates to get to the pod without you.

One thing for sure, while they may not always succeed, the Dwarves of DRG will always try to make sure no dwarf is left behind.

DRG really is the male fantasy. It's a desire most men have; To struggle against overwhelming odds. If you're bad or unlucky you die forgotten. If you are good, you survive. But if you're lucky... You die an honorable and memorable death. A death that will inspire others. A death that makes others sad, but proud. A death that will carry on as your legacy. A worthy sacrifice while protecting others. Like Karl.
But also copious amounts of ultraviolence.
