We needed a place to put our bikes. We originally had them hanging from hooks in the ceiling but it was difficult for us to get them down without a ladder. So we needed an efficient, easy solution.

So we thought, why not hang our bikes like clothes in a closet?

Materials:
* 1 - 6' 2x4
* 1 - 6' 3/4" black pipe
* 2 - 3/4" black pipe nipples
* 2 - 3/4" black pipe flanges
* 6 - 3" stainless steel welded rings
* 6 - Husky 18" Hangers
* 4" drywall screws
* 3" drywall screws

Build Time: 30 minutes
Cost: $60 (about)

This was very difficult to follow without a fifteen-minute intro about your grandmother's struggles with bike storage in the 1920s and how you not only related to it, but how it inspired you to create a hanging bike rack that also made you a better person. Other than that, it was great.

This is the most incredibly efficient and perfect instructional video in the universe. Please oversee the production of every other "How To" video on YouTube and the world will be a much better place.

Very straightforward, very easy, VERY close to your hands the entire time. I feel like we are now much closer than we should be.

Just made this for 6 of our adult bikes. Added a center support to keep it more level. Super stoked

I'm a Mom who was over having all the bikes taking space in the garage. I just did this entire project myself and hung all the bikes, 4 being full size, myself. May 2023 and I spent just under $100 including screws. I added a T in the center for support. I also used larger L type rafter hanger hooks instead of the velcro straps. Cheaper, and there was no way I could have one free hand to get the carabiner open while supporting the bike weight with the other hand. I also noticed your rack is in the corner while mine is not. The corner is supporting the first bikes handle bars to keep it straighter. This was more difficult with mine as the bikes sway more while hanging each one since they have nothing to butt against. I also wasn't realizing how challenging it will be to have to take down every bike to get just one at the end. However, I am very happy all our bikes are off the floor and in one place and since we don't use them regularly, this was a nice fix.

Whoever did this video should've shown your face so the world could see who the brilliant person behind this quick, non-boring, how-to diy video 👍

For a sturdier assembly use two shorter black pipes connected in the middle with a 'T', 3/4" nipple and another flange. For an industrial build put a 'T' flange assembly every foot. I need my bike completely off the ground but this works for those who can give up a little floor space.

5 years later and hundreds of unnecessarily 'lengthy' videos with aspiring actors with the same ideas...then BOOM!! This brilliant idea with 'just the details' comes up. 6 bikes, sticking out no more than the width of the longest handle bars??
Dang I wish I thought of that! Best of the Best 🏆🏆🏆

Creative video and great idea for a bike rack accommodating many bikes while having them hug the wall for additional space savings. Thanks for posting.
