Flite Test - FLITE TIP - Flying in the wind (With Corey Feldman)

No trip to LA would be complete without the opportunity to bask in the glow of celebrity. In this week's Flite Tip, our boys get a chance to hang out with a star from The Lost Boys, Corey Feldman. A high wind advisory couldn't keep Josh grounded, and in this episode he shares advice for flying in the wind. It is evident though that Corey and Josh differ somewhat in their definitions for "Flying in the Wind", but both techniques promise some excitement. The F6F performs well in these adverse conditions, and Josh Scott contributes to the discussion with tips on control throws and managing airspace. This Hollywood story has a happy ending, and Corey gets to go home with a Hobby King F6F Hellcat. Be sure to watch until the end as Josh Bixler does his best imitation of Dancing with the Stars.

Kudos to the director for getting such clear audio despite the high wind.

Bixler: "It makes the sticks softer in the centre."
Corey: "That's what she said."
J Scott: "Yeah, I wasn't there, but I'm sure she did."

Bixler did an OUTSTANDING job of saving that segment.

That was indeed painful as hell watching the friendly tech geek, the "comic relief", and the angst-ridden X-celeb banter in 45 degrees all the while watching a darting RC plane.

Josh B. talked the whole time....non-stop, to keep Cory from saying anything! I laughed the whole time because I knew why he was talking so

I love how I watched this video after I picked all the pieces of foam from my airplane

Big respect to the ft team to pull that off, talk about flying calm in rough weather... and keeping your nerve :)

Probably the most awkward episode ever.

Really fun landing--nearly zero ground speed. WTF was Cory doing there? I don't think he really fit with the "squeaky-clean" vibe of Flite Test.

I wet myself laughing at what Scott says 4:45-5:00. Scott really makes this show a treat! Keep it up man!

Oh my god, how did they think Corey Feldman would be good for this show? First time I think there has ever been swear words on FliteTest. I don't care much personally, but I know that FliteTest makes keeping everything family friendly a top priority.

When I started with this hobby, I always flew with wind, because with real airplanes you can't just tell the wind to slow down. It's always good practice with wind, and when you get the hang of it it just feels like you're surfing the plane. You also get the smoothest landings, and the most stick time if you choose to fly on windy days.

I felt like Feldman didn't really fit with with Flitetest's family-friendly, appropriate feeling.
