I'm 69 years old, I'm going to build myself my first plane, I've wanted to for so long. I was impressed by the amount of information, little or very important, that you give throughout this video. Well done! Philippe from France.

Josh, you are the Bob Ross of Foam Board Airplanes. Your "Use the table as your friend" is just like his "happy little accidents."

I've been a quad pilot for about 1.5 years and finally ventured into scratch building of the Trainer as my first foray into fixed wing
flight. I built my Trainer after watching the excellent video here (with my share of mistakes "WTF? The plans are mirrored???"!!) I completely enjoyed the build experience, and maidened this morning for my first ever fixed wing flight! I WAS AMAZED at how this thing responded to my inexperienced command inputs! Best flight experience ever! About 1-1/2 minutes in air until the gust of wind flipped it over and sent me back to the shop for a couple of hot-glue repairs and a new prop! I CAN'T WAIT for a calm day! THANK YOU FLITE I AM HOOKED!!!! Simple Soarer is next!!

I got started in RC flying about 7 months ago. I've spent quite a bit of cash on various planes. Most fly pretty well. I built a Tiny Trainer last weekend and flew it about 10 times today. I am blown away by how well this inexpensive little plane flies. For pure fun you can't beat it. It does well as a relaxing floaty flyer, but also can do some pretty cool aerobatics. I flew mine with 1000mAh 2S and 850mAh 3S batteries. The fact that it cost so little money takes away a lot of the stress of flying more expensive planes.

a whole year after i built the fokker DR1 speed kit with a friend and crashing it many many times, i didn't find time to get back to the hobby. This year i finally purchased the zero and the trainer kit, today was my first fly with the trainer and i absolutely love it!!!! it was my first real time flying a plane that i built as the DR1 just was too fast for me, i am in LOVE thank you all at Flite test for providing so much content, tips and kits to build!!

The sound of cutting and bending the foam is oddly soothing.. like a crackling fire... I may be going crazy or something, but I love that freaking sound  :)

I have to say for you guys showing all the younger kids how to do this and to encourage them to try is amazing. I think what you guys are doing with your knowledge and reaching out to the kids thru out the community is awesome. Thanks for all you guys do, From the camera man to the secretary to all the people oh yes even the drone camera guy too...  Looking forward to buying some of your products you guys have to offer.  Thanks for sharing. God Bless.

Josh, wanted to thank you for doing these directions. This the second I've watched, always wanted to get into rc aircraft. My next step will be to purchase the complete kit and tool kit, won't be immediately, but will happen. Thanks again Jim

Just wanted to thank you for this video. We've built and flown the glider this evening with my 8 year old son. Even without the power it flies wonderful. Cant be easier than that. I've to get more foam board tomorrow.... Thanks guys!!

My 11yo son and i scratch built this plane with the sport wing from the ft plans (kit was out of stock), finished yesterday, flew it today. We each have about 40 hours flying time, and this is the best/easiest flying plane we've built. I wish we'd made one when we first started in rc last year. Thanks for the plans and great build video!

Just building this kit right now. Have never heard better instructions. And so pleasantly presented.

Great video thank you, things have changed in model building since I was a kid, and am thinking of taking the plunge and making a simple plane.you make it look so easy.
One thing...hot glue cools / sets...it doesn’t dry....pedantic I know but...
Again thanks for the video. 👍👍

built one about 18 months ago....finally assembled and trimmed it for flight yesterday....came out very nose the motor pod back 3/8" and the 3s 850 battery is fully covering the launch grip....seems odd but if you are into mass centralization, it's spot on....

Nobody can "Show the camera" what youre doing like you do. Some of it is the camera man (your son right?) but it seems like you instinctively know how to move yourself and the project without getting in the way and we all see exactly what your teaching. I dont know if anyone else has noticed so i had to say something. I really appreciate it. Is there a class you can take it or was it all trial and error? Most guys stick with the "Hold on, let me move the camera" and ya still dont see what theyre talkin bout. THANKS

Thanks Josh! Officially my first plane to survive a single flight. I harvested a landing gear from an old plane and added a piece of bbq skewer to the tail for dragging and it flies amazing! Pic on the forums :D Side note: I kept having improvement ideas but each time, 30 seconds later in the video, that's what you did anyway!
