This looks more like a carpenter bee than a wood boring beetle.

Looked like the beetle was trying to drag the bird out the nest and/or find a soft spot on it to lock it's jaws into but the chick put up a good fight 😅

Seems like that beetle was trying to wrestle the bird, constantly trying to get the bird in a headlock lol

Yes, the guy put the beetle there, and he kept the parents from saving the chick.

not wood boring beetles, this looks like a carpenter bee = Xylocopa (violacea ?). These bees are normally not aggressive except if you are too close to their nest.

Was that beetle huge or was the baby bird just really small?

I didn’t notice that there was another baby bird. At the end he’s like “whuzzah what’s all the noise?”

That's a bee, a carpenter bee of some type. Looks like a male bee judging by the large eyes, as male carpenter bees have very big eyes and females have small eyes. Male bees can not sting, so it wasn't trying to sting or kill the chick. It fell into the nest and was trying to grasp on to something. Notice at 0:18 when the bee was on the side of the nest and whenever the chick stopped moving, it was calm. The bee was confused about why the object it was trying to grab onto was moving so much and the bird was vigorously trying to get the large insect off. The bee wasn't aggressive, just trying to rest in the wrong place. If it was a wasp, though, it would have been another story.

Why do people never finish these videos? Do they run out of tape or something?
