How to determine the rate of change using a graph

Показать описание
👉 Learn how to find the rate of change from graph. The rate of change is the rate at which y-values are changing with respect to the change in x-values. To determine the rate of change from a graph, a right triangle is drawn on the graph such that the line of the graph is the hypotenuse of the right triangle. Then the rate of change of the graph is given by the length of the vertical leg of the right triangle divided by the length of the horizontal leg of the right triangle.

Thank you for having this channel, im not even in this class or go to the school you teach at but this is very helpful. My teacher has low patience for students and he kind of just complains if we do not understand what we are learning so thank you!

THIS TEACHER IS LITERALLY AMAZING. I had a test today and I didn't know how to do anything in this unit. Also I'm the type of person who would literally be struggling but wouldn't tell anybody and now youtube is my best friend. I had watched other videos on this concept and also took notes but I didn't get any of it. So I clicked on this video and dude literally saved me. This is actually really easy. And I'm so thankful.

You only count from the origin if your line goes through the origin. Slope is the change between your y coordinates over the change in your x-coordinates. If a point is on the origin then you can use it but in my example we have two different points.

AS we read a graph from left to right. If the graph rises as we move left to right, the graph is increasing. If the graph is falling we say it is decreasing. The increasing and decreasing comes from the y-values of the graph. When the graph rises the y values are increasing. The same for decreasing.
