A car payment is basically a mortgage these days.

Affordability is going to be the death of the auto industry.

We owned a Dodge dealership for 20 years but sold just before covid hit, man I am glad to be out of this racket.

I'm not paying $70k for a $30, 000 truck. Payments longer than 36 months to $0.00 are insane.

$1, 800 per month!!! What?

$200 nitrogen in the tires, and $1, 000 car keys. WTF is wrong with these people.

In today's economy, especially considering groceries and rent, I'll drive my car until it's a pile of rust and then I'll keep driving it.

No one can actually afford a $75k+ truck. You can't call an ~8% interest loan for 84 months and $1000+ a month "affordable".

This is what happens when you sell a truck that cost a manufacturer $20K to build for $80K.
Once all the fools buy up the vehicles that should be half the price at ridiculous mark ups, you're left with a bunch of overpriced inventories that should cost half of what the dealers are asking for them.

Hey, guess what? It's not just one company. The entire industry, and world actually, is suffering from the greed of a few.

But Carlos Taveras gave himself a 56% raise so things must be good! 😂

What people are mostly paying for is all that "flashware." Give me a vehicle that takes me from point A to B, and leave the rest of it out! 😊

can you imagine spending 65k on a truck and getting a 6 banger? They clearly have no respect for the customer

$1800 a month for a depreciating liability like a truck is so utterly insane that it's hard to quantify the level of stupidity required to sign the paperwork.

In Canada we almost bought a new Ram 1500 sport 4X4. Nice truck. It was going for $42 000. That was 5 years ago but we decided it was too much money. Bought the same truck 5 years old for half the price.
I looked at the same model last year and they were asking $75 000 for it.😂

The average guy could afford a new pickup years ago. They now build overpriced land yachts that only a very small percent of the population can afford. *and afford doesn't mean seven year loan

Car companies have forgotten what a truck was originally designed for. It was supposed to be an affordable vehicle that can haul things around. If they would just stick to a solid reliable and affordable vehicle they would undercut their competitors and steal the whole market! Wow I should be a CEO!

I purchased a brand new 2006 Ram, then a 2009, then a 2014. My plan was to upgrade again, but prices got outrageous and I'm still driving my 2014 now at 111, 000 miles 😢
