The 2022 Lexus NX might not look significantly different than the first generation, but there are huge changes under the skin. There are four available powertrains, loads of new safety tech and the first application of the new Lexus Interface. That's right, the unloved trackpad is gone! And for the first time, the NX is available as a plug-in hybrid, the 450h+ that happens to be the most powerful model. All of these changes point to the direction Lexus is going. Tom Voelk travels to Phoenix, AZ to check out the most popular model, the NX 350 Luxury.

Thank you Tom, the old interior and exterior had more character to me🤷🏻‍♂️ and Alfa Romeo is so right, modern cars are iphones on wheels, seems like driving is for skilled drivers nowadays with so much electronics

I’m 100% with you on the no spare tire thing, that can easily be a deal breaker for me if one can’t be added.

I appreciate a review of the volume seller. That makes the review far more practical. Thanks for the review. Really enjoyed it.

That interior could have been nicer. Last gen looked more luxurious.

Tom, thank you for putting up with the heat, and the insects, so that you could bring us another wonderful car review 👍

Thank You Tom…This new NX will fly off dealer lots. Since the NX250 now exists, I would imagine the UX model losing sales to this one.

Bring on the hybrid review. I agree about spare tires.

Thanks Tom, We had never seen Ryan's (Driving Sports TV) left profile before. Speaking of engine stop-start, we look forward to your NX 350h review. That's the NX Hybrid one might actually be able to buy.

The 2022 Lexus NX is amazing but the passenger side of the dashboard needs some colour or at least some stitching.I can't wait for you to get the 2022 Lexus LX to review.

Why are you comparing the NX with the GLA, X1 and Q3? The new NX is 183.5 inches long while those Germans are 175 to 177 inches long.

The GLC is 183-186 inches, the X3 is 186 and the Q5 is 184. These are much better comparisons for the NX as they are much closer to its exterior dimensions.

Wow, the NX is amazing, sad that the NX team did not transfer many things to the new LX... Like the 14" screen (would be great to have a big map or whatever u need on that screen, specially as the LX is a huge car) as well the new door handle and other nifty things

So do you have to pay to use the voice tech? Otherwise you can just use it as a touchscreen? I hate this new tech trend to completely gut the user experience without a paid subscription and treat the free users as an afterthought

I think Lexus has finally found its groove with exterior design, the initial implementations of the spindle grille looked awkward and excessive, and the rear light bar is a nice touch (very 2020s)

Not sure i can say the same about the new LX but this one looks nice

Suspect the need to SUBSCRIBE to the NAV system is a deal breaker, especially given my experience with the very out-of-date brand new system in my Venza!
