This is a very nice instrument. Few questions.

1) how many notes are possible on the fret for a string - an octave and a 5th?
2) is it possible to play without frets?
3) any reason it has only 7 frets?
4) can it have more than 7 frets?
5) can it be leaned against something if the players' legs get tired ?

On a viola the strings are, C G D A, what are the extra strings called?
