We actually have a local legend about a massive bull shark in the area. Back in the 50s a local man reported seeing a lake monster in the coastal dune lake here. From what I’ve heard, it was eventually determined to be a massive bull shark that had entered the lake. It’s probably exaggerated somewhat, but the story goes that it was a 15 footer. Makes for a great story to tell tourists for sure though.

The Breede river sharks are known for being unusually large. They were featured on River Monsters, where not only was the big female mentions, they actually caught two very large males that were over 9 feet long each; substantially larger than the average male

I'd like to add my own anecdotal evidence to the ring. 2012, off the tip of cape may NJ. I was in a 13 foot kayak and hooked into a bull that was at least a foot longer than my kayak. It towed me from cape may in NJ to rehobath beach in Delaware clear across the bay without getting tired. I was using a whole massive bluefish as bait

I’ve worked as a pro fisherman as well as a charter operator on the Great Barrier Reef since 2001. They most certainly do get bigger than 13ft. We regularly see sharks 11-13ft. I have a video of one that’s at least 14ft. As well as photos of multiple 13 footers caught by myself and crew before they were protected by the commercial shark fishing ban.
I’ll stand by this statement: Our GBR bull sharks are evolving and growing quicker than any others I’ve seen. There are 10 times as many bulls as there were on the GBR 20 years ago. And they are most definitely a lot bigger than we used to see them.

Three years ago my son and I were fishing off the coast of Pensacola, Florida and had a 14 foot Tiger Shark bump our boat. It was following a massive Leather Back Turtle that swam up to our boat and then moved on but the shark was obviously attracted to us catching fish. Luckily it moved on and left us be but it made us very nervous as our boat was only 17 feet long. We actually made the joke " we're going to need a bigger boat " comment.

Salmon Sharks and Porbeagle sharks are some of my favorite sharks in the world. They have this unique ability to maintain high body temperature even in cold waters. So they can maintain fast movement and high output activity compared to most other fish in those cold waters.

I had my boat at Bayside Marina in Nassau and everyday a huge bull shark came in when the fishing boats were cleaning their catch. I'm estimating it at 13 feet and 1300 lbs too. The 7 footers who swam with her looked like babies.
The Bahamas has an incredible amount of sharks including numerous species.

Nice to see you give the bull shark the spotlight. Looking at Shark today compared to the past, you can see the difference in size. Back then before man was over hunting shark, they used to reach larger size then today, back then records say great white average size was around 18 to 20 feet, now compared that to tigers and bull shark, imagine how big they reach back then. And at that size, they would hunt larger prey.

Wow a nature show that doesn’t speak to us like we’re 10 year olds and instead has facts and is analytical. Thank you

Your assessment of the length is a good one..i grew up surfing floridas coast... with Bulls, it was their girth that really impressed us! I always heard that it's length would be the same as it's girth... just like White Sharks...

I think it's often hard for people to really comprehend just how big a meter (3, 3f) is. Let's take the biggest bull shark from this video for example. Good chance your nearest door is just about 2 meters (6, 6f), try to put another of that exact door on top if you can. To imagine being with a shark of that exact length is truly fascinating. Only one half of your door would already make for a formidable size for a shark if you were to face one, but one 4 times the size? damn.

in conclusion: The largest bullshark is about 2, 02 Coelacanths long and weighs as much as 6, 68 of them
