Punched a 10ft BULL SHARK in the face!

The title is a bit click baity. This was part of a dive organised by a conservation group in Fiji. They are very dangerous sharks to dive with, and the dive instructors and guides were amazing at keeping the sharks and the humans safe. You can see the curved pole at the end, giving the shark a nudge before it collected my face, where its open jaw was heading straight towards (was within a foot).

The punch at the beginning was only a tap just so the shark would settle enough to be in the right position to be safely fed by hand (I'm reasonably sure but this was only a small portion of an exciting dive). Because he is feeding and handling the wild sharks one by one, he needed to risk losing an arm by punching the shark as he didn't have a pole, but that guy certainly had a huge pair.

A very surreal dive, and I have an amazing and lasting appreciation of these beautiful creatures all the more for having experienced this.
