I wish you guys all the best... the current system really does need to be challenged and I believe you've got what it takes to do so.

Executives: "I love everything about this!"
Creators: "Awesome! So there's nothing getting in the way-"
Executives: "But first let's make some massive changes and cut your budget in half."
Creators: "..."

They really just tried to make you guys feel excited about the deal, get you in a hand-shaking kinda mood right before they pulled the rug out from under you. Emphasis on tried since you guys were smart enough to realize what they were doing.

For every 100 starry successes the Film industry is a grave yard of a million shattered dreams.

Seeing stuff like this, everything George Lucas did in the 70s makes perfect sense

You got my vote in: I admire when people take matters in their own hands. Good works guys.

I love how the internet has allowed people to bypass the old systems in place for you to be able to release content. Musicians have been using it now to not have to commit to a record label so it would be great to see this be successful and give another option for people passionate about their art.

About ten years ago, I had a college class called "Conceptual Storytelling". The teacher raised our expectations by telling us that if we could come up with a good pitch, he could get us a meeting with studio execs who might buy it for a massive amount of cash. He then shattered our expectations by explaining how that idea would probably end up sitting in a vault somewhere, never to be made. Or, if it ever did get made, it would be practically unrecognizable.

The system isn't designed for creators. It's designed to make money. Unless your name is Quentin Tarantino, John Waters, Clint Eastwood, etc., your idea is going to be molded into something that a studio feels will make them the most profit.

I hope your idea succeeds. I think it's the best way forward, letting creators make what they want to make, and letting the people decide what they want to watch.

I’ve now seen several YouTube creators now explore this path. As the consumer I’d prefer a collaboration (co-op) effort so much of my viewing and fees stays consolidated. Industry risks splintering the audiences.

Hey corridor- I think it’s also a good idea to allow other creators on the platform if they ask. I can see this project attracting a lot of upcoming directors, and the competition for the best ideas will drive better content.

I feel this personally and I'm really happy for you guys! This somewhat happened with me but not on the scale of your channel of course. We gave out a few ideas and got approached by a corporation that stated they liked our stuff but were trying to change the core roots of everything we stood for. Essentially we had zero say in the product and we would've spent two years making something and would have zero rights to it. I hope the website works out for you guys, you did what very few channels on YouTube were able to do: you actually created a successful business based solely around YouTube filmmaking (not gaming, streams, etc).

Let Clinton and Nick L know I miss them! Was an honor meeting some of your crew.

Sub based systems are really tough when they are limited to single teams of creators. You make great content and I really wish you the best of luck with it.

Question though:
How will you focus your time, energy, and money if you have multiple projects happening simultaneously? Will the project with the most money/subscriptions be the main focus? If so, will the quality of the other subscriptions diminish?

I remember you guys from middle school. I've already graduated high school, about to start my third year of college. Legends then, legends now.
