US meat is becoming prohibitively expensive, some Chinese importers say, after Beijing placed retaliatory tariffs on American pork and beef amid a trade war with Washington. Some importers are now sourcing meat from other elsewhere, while others stay loyal to their US suppliers.

Try Wagyu beef. American beef are corn fed. Cows' natural food is grass, not corn.

Argentina is more than happy to sell its share of beef to China. Commodities like corns, soybeans and beef are widely accessible and available. If China doesn't buy them from US, it can buy them elsewhere. Can American consumers do the same with banning the purchase of Chinese made products and go elsewhere for replacements.

You have to consider that the US has a very efficient and cheap beef export. It's not as simple as find another source because the other sources that China could import from are also being used up by other parts of the world those include the second and third largest exporters of beef like Australia and Brazil. Prices would rise for China tremendously for beef in the case that China decides to not import beef from the US as China has grown to be the fastest growing beef import in the world and no other country comes close. It's simple facts, US beef is efficient and of great value its the largest exporter of beef for a reason.

And if you think all of this tit for tat on trade wasn't expected by Trump you've got it all wrong. He's probably 4 steps ahead, and I didn't even vote for Trump.
