Lakehouse VS Warehouse VS Datamart The Difference Between The Three Fabric Objects

Показать описание
Three types of objects in the Microsoft Fabric have similarities in what they can do for an analytics system. These three are; Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Power BI Datamart. All three objects provide storage for the data, which can be loaded into them using an ETL process and read using something like a Power BI report. In this article and video, I'll explain the actual differences and how to choose the best option for your implementation and architecture.

By the way Reza, I believe you are doing a fantastic job covering fabric content... I follow quite a few Power BI YouTube channels and I believe your coverage on fabric is first class 👌

Very Informative as always Reza, Looking forward for next session I would also learn a bit more around Direct Lake and what it offers .If you have any links/ sources about Direct Lake pls share !

One more thing, your video picture is hiding certain details on the presentation page, especially on the comparison table chart,
I've learned a lot today from this session, many thanks

Thanks, this was really helpful, Reza, I have a question, if I am a Powerbi power user who want to explore the Data Science space, I guess the lakehouse is the best choice right?

I can manage the ETL to the lakehouse via dataflows (power query online) because I already know how to use it and I work with small data, and then leverage the Spark notebooks and AutoML for data science or ML practices right?

Once the results of the data Science predictions are on a column or a table in the lakehouse I can also incorporate those to the Powerbi reports via the direct lake connection correct?

I am really excited for this, fabric seems to give small companies and Powerbi power users the opportunity to explore Data Science in a integrated and simplified framework...

Also, it seems cost competitive using F2 for about $300 a month plus maybe 3-5 powerbi pro license s...

What do you guys think?

Does that microphone actually work or is it just for show? I've always wondered because of the room echo.
