Shortly after Werner is invited to evaluate the construction site, he is introduced to Gustavo.

Season 4 Episode 5 - Quite A Ride: In a flash forward (taking place during Breaking Bad's "Ozymandias"), Francesca quickly shreds documents and Saul frantically collects cash, mementos, and paperwork from his office before contacting his "disappearer" for a new identity. In 2003, Jimmy convinces a customer to buy several prepaid cellular phones as a way to maintain his privacy and then gets the idea to profit by reselling prepaid phones on the street. He sells them all, but the venture proves unsuccessful because he is mugged by three teenagers. As Kim treats his wounds, he blames himself for not recognizing the threat and promises to see a psychologist but instead goes to work the next day as usual. Kim is assigned as pro bono counsel for several defendants. When a problem arises with recent Mesa Verde paperwork, Kim sees her current case through to completion before responding, for which Paige later reprimands her. Mike discreetly escorts foreign structural engineers through the industrial laundry so they can evaluate the space below as a site for Gus's planned meth "superlab." Gus is impressed by one, Werner Ziegler, and offers him the job of planning and overseeing the construction of the facility.

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

I wonder if Gus actually knew German from his work with Madrigal or did he learn this line and prayed to god Werner didn't continue the conversation

I love this scene. Werner is not like the first guy, he is not a seller and is not there to say what you want to hear. He is realistic, authentic and a very experienced professional. A truely expert, something hard to find these days.

Werner built the lab. Heisenberg destroyed it. Perfect 👌

Gotta love how even Lalo admired what a badass feat this construction was

It's so tragic the way everyone buys Gus' charm at first. I've had so many bosses like him. When you first meet them, you think you're onto a winner, as they seem like they'll be great to work for. Then before you know it, they slash your throat with a boxcutter just to make a point to your coworkers.

As someone who speaks German I must say Gus's German is almost as good as his Spanish

If only Werner knew what sort of person he was working for, he might have survived

I love that little detail of him returning back to his book when talking about how much concrete they need. Werner makes calculations for all eventualities, and he wants to be as precise as possible when he gives his estimates, so he returns to his calculations instead of winging the numbers. This precision, professionalism, and no BS attitude is why Gus chose him. Sadly Werner is too honest, too innocent to understand the danger that such project entails.

I absolutely love the delivery of 0:37 „Was für ’ne Scheiße ... ähh difficult“ :D Also really thankful they used actual German actors for the main roles. Gus's German pronunciation was... a bit bumpy, if anyone wanted to know. At least he tried!

Gus declined the first guy who came because he made this job sound very easy. He's a cautious man indeed <3

You know how many Werner Zeiglers there are in Germany, 27, 26 now according to Mrs Ziegler

I love the little "German tics" Werner displays here, I do the whole bubble thing and the explosion thing too when I'm explaining stuff.

"Many things can go wrong"

This line would mean absolutely nothing if anyone else had said it.

The actor that plays Werner puts on such a believable performance.

Werner was a good man, Didn't deserve what happened to him

Werner is to construction engineering the same way as Walter is to chemistry. Both are masters of their respective fields but sadly got involved with the wrong people.

I’m glad Gus and Werner both agreed to work together. I hope nothing will come between these two.

Werner was a simple man who just had a love of build things. Its a shame how his story ended.

Wow as German hearing it in English it completely changes the meaning. Because in Germany the whole scene is German so there was nothing special when Gus suddenly spoke German…
