Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

An EPIC meeting that took so long to reveal. It was worth the wait. Her guess that he was the guy out in the desert was a nice touch. Even nicer was remembering him as the parking attendant. I love this show.

Mike probably didn’t leave that big of an impression on Kim as the parking attendant because she probably had all her stickers.

I love Jonathan Banks' performance here. He looks more frail and disarming than usual. Even his spoken voice sounds huskier and lower. It's like Mike is trying to make himself look less threatening to not scare Kim.

2:17 I love how at the end of the "I'll answer anything I can" line Mike delivers that tingling in the voice that he uses to show empathy for the person he's talking with, like when he talked about avenging his son or before murdering Ziegler. Such an incredible delivery by Jonathan Banks.

I love that Mike treats Kim with so much more respect than Jimmy, probably because of the way she handled the Lalo confrontation last season

Huh, this is the writers at their most poetic. That's the *perfect* description of Mike.

Its so crazy that this is the first time kim and finger actually met. Kim knew someones been helping jimmy this whole time but never knew who.

Funny how Mike's mysterious aura immediately disappeared the moment Kim identified him. I don't think he was hinging on that possibility.

3:29 I love Jonathan Banks' delivery of "I was" there. Mike left Philly and that part of his life behind, moved across the country to ABQ hoping to find peace, yet somehow he found himself entangled in the criminal underground once again. Full of defeat and burnout, the last thing that kept this man going was the well being of his family.

Jimmy's and Kim's first encounters with Mike are actually done the same way, you first hear Mike's voice before he's revealed.

The “sterner stuff” comment confused me for a moment before I remembered that Mike heard Kim dress down Lalo. No wonder he thinks she can take it better
