Here is a link to the VIDEO that describes my I. A.M. method in more detail called, "Brain Hack for Anxiety and OCD":

You constantly ask yourself “what-if” questions, and always imagine the worst-case scenario. You catastrophize every situation, turning small problems into huge, overwhelming ones and the more you worry, the more hyper vigilant you become.

This is what it’s like to live with overthinking, asking yourself “what-if” questions, and catastrophizing every worst case scenario. Whether you struggle with anxiety, OCD, past trauma, social anxiety or health anxiety engaging in a self perpetuating cycle of worry and fear can make even the simplest tasks seem impossible.

Unfortunately, catastrophizing scares your brain into thinking something is very wrong, and unnecessarily activates your fight or flight response. Your brain cannot tell the difference between a real emergency and an imagined one.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. With a few simple strategies, you can learn to quiet your mind and find peace in the present moment. In this video, I review 5 ways to stop overthinking and catastrophizing in this video.

Aloha. Having lived through many catastrophes, I find that even if my mind could imagine the worst case scenario it was never how those catastrophes manifested. It was sometimes worse than I could have imagined or sometimes not as bad. However, I did learn that which each level of a catastrophe, there was a new normal that happened afterwards. I was still alive and being resiliant. And as human beings, we adapt. So I no longer worry as intensely as I did before because Anxiety can't predict the future.

The brain loves to create problems and illusory threats; it's very conditioned to stay preoccupied with its own problems. Mindfulness is awesome for calming the monkey mind. I like the workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety by Harper Daniels, and the Tao Te Ching for calming the mind.

My 12year old daughter is suffering from OCD after pandemic. She didnt want to go school nor open the books during class. I bring her to therapist but the progress are too slow. Thanks God i found your video, we watch it together, so she can help herself to identify and ignore the false alarm. Sometimes it didnt work, but at least she tried. Your video help me a lot to understand about OCD. So we can find the best way to overcome her thoughts.

Wonderful as always, thank you so much for this! For two years now I always come back to your videos, and I've learned so much from them. I would like to ask one question. How can one deal with guilt regarding to failure? I often worry about having failed a task or an exam or even a relationship. But even before I know whether I actually failed the exam, I start blaming myself for not passing. To me, the knowledge of being guilty of my own shortcoming is worse than the actual outcome, the failure. Do you have any advice on how to overcome guilt like this? Thank you so much for all you do!

Paige, something i've always wondered about is waking up with a TON of thoughts about the day ahead but almost in an energized or excited way rather than doom or worried? Ive had people tell me this isnt normal but i never saw it as bad. I'm almost wondering if it is related to OCD since my ODC is around productivity/perfectionism/to do lists

Hi Paige, I have recently lost a lot of my hearing which has escalated my anxiety and I find myself catastrophizing about any more health issues that will prevent me from working and taking care of myself. I worry constantly about the what if’s and fear the worse case scenario which is making me physically ill. I watched your video and will apply your techniques but how does one take on the “I don’t care attitude” that some people have. It seems they don’t worry about anything and of course if it’s out of your control why worry. I get all that but it’s a challenge to change my way of thinking. Any extra advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening :)

Actually i don't know how to handle these things. I started creating story's in my mind. And i think that the people arounde me is going to leave me specially my mom. I think the worst scenario in my mind.without any evidence in reality.it hurts me a lot to think that but i can't control it. It's been long time it is happening with me. I can't focus on my studies. I want to leave these thoughts, questions but how?...i am tired of trying. How? Why me? I am not feeling good.its hurting me.

How to stop ruminating and health anxiety during tapering off prescribed benzodiazapines? I wake up and it’s like Groundhog Day. — I immediately anticipate the scary withdrawal symptoms and I know how horrible my life is now. It’s so difficult to change my thoughts because the withdrawal is terrifying physically and mentally. Im tapering under supervision of my doctor and 2 other therapists and I’m tapering very slowly and it’s still debilitating. I feel like my life has been destroyed by this prescribed anxiety medication that was prescribed for sleep issues. Can you help me!
