Bold of them To assume that I have internet

In an all-digital world you WOULD lose your games. As is with discs, you can still pop them in and run the base version of a game (even if its a buggier version). Perfect example of why I refuse to buy into all-digital is the Wii Shop channel shutting down. There were exclusive versions of certain games on there that will never be available as a physical form because demand wouldnt be big enough to warrant a print of it, so they are lost forever.

Laugh all you want, but physical is still the way to go.

I wanted to buy the 360 xcom game the other day, it's 9$ for a physical copy and 50$ for digital. It's just a ploy to make more cash.

Gets banned. Loses every game coz they're not physical.

If it doesn't lower the prices of digital games what's the point

.... That will mean no more cheap used games. I buy almost all my games under $20.

I want single player offline games on disc. Then if there is a problem with the internet, I can still play. It feels good to OWN the game.

while I don't think consoles should go purely digital, they should change from discs to cartridges(or back to them as it is) as carts have much higher read speeds that could lead to MUCH higher load times, even faster than off of the hard drive installs due to the lack of needing to read a spinning disc. carts also have a much higher data capacity, think of 128gig micro sd cards so they wouldn't have to worry about game size on the disc. but this is just my own thoughts

The thing that annoys me about digital only is how expensive it is. A prime example I can give for this is the psn store here in the UK. Red dead 2 base edition was priced at £60 on day one of release, which is insanely high. After shopping around and finding some discount codes I got the game in the first week in its physical form for £40 and have completed and sold it for £25 therefore the game cost me £15. If Sony and Microsoft go down this digital route then the prices of games need to come down, we need something like a steam marketplace on consoles which prices games more competitively.

A bold move. They lock you in with your purchased game, no refunds, no trading.

Interesting idea. Let's see how it works out. Personally, I'll still buy physical copies.

The day they stop offering physical games is the day I give up on gaming.
