Protesters Call On New York Lawmakers To Approve New COVID Relief Measures

They're asking lawmakers to cancel rent, set aside funds for the unemployed and raise taxes on the wealthy as part of the state budget.

We landlords have bills too that we HAVE to pay on the buildings itself. So, why are these tenants want to take advantage of living rent free because of the pandemic. This is such a cop-out excuse & the lawmakers are not making it any easier for all the landlords who are struggling to pay their own bills because tenants don’t want to pay rent which many are able to. A good majority of them are using this pandemic as a “legitimate “ excuse & it’s gone too far, really. At least, make an effort to remit rent rather than refusing to pay rent . I, myself is considered lucky because I have truly have good responsible tenants who has backup savings for such rainy days. Unfortunately, there are tenants who lives paycheck by check . At least, by all means, make a attempt to pay the rent or work out some kind of payment schedule with the landlord so, they don’t have to suffer & have such grief with this kind of bullshit. By abusing what the stupid lawmakers laid out, it’s really selfishness by their own part which at the end, the landlords suffers the most.

Better ideas: ask for jobs, more resources for the underprivileged, and vaccine funding +Ppe with distribution and networking to all people. This is something we can realistically get and it’s long lasting plus for everyone
