WAY too many people see a minor setback and become so discouraged that they give up all together... Stay on the grind boys, it's a bumpy road.

Not only is perfection flat out impossible, but it isn’t necessary in order to achieve your muscle building and fat loss goals anyway.

Expecting perfection from yourself 100% of the time will only:

A) Stress you out mentally and make your day to day life a less enjoyable and more anxious experience.

B) Decrease your chances for success in the long term since you’ll be much more liable to become discouraged any time you slip up, leading to eventual resentment/burn out with your fitness plan.

You of course need to work hard and be consistent in the overall picture, but getting things “right” around 80-90% of the time is usually good enough.

This is especially true if fitness is something you’re simply doing as part of an overall lifestyle as opposed to being a high level athlete where a few % can mean the difference between victory or defeat.

Furthermore, that “80-90%” figure applies to the long term average - not to every single individual day.

No matter what you do, you’re going to have some 60%, 30% and even 0% days here and there, but what truly matters is how things look once you add up the week, month and year as a whole.

So, stay on point with things as best as you reasonably can...

Be consistent and hit your training and nutrition targets most of the time...

But when you do inevitably slip up for whatever reason, don’t be too hard on yourself.

Get back on track the next day or next week (or maybe even next month depending on what the specific situation is), and keep that bigger picture vision in mind.

As long as you’re making continued progress over time and you don’t quit, you’ll hit your goal eventually.

I’ve been going to the gym 6 days a week since January now, so 6 months, and the progress I’ve made is still unreal to me. People at work complimenting me, getting more noticeable and obvious looks from women and men, it feels great. What people don’t know is how many times i almost flat out quit because I missed a week or two here and there and was super hard on myself, or when I binge ate candy for days and woke up with some of the worst depression I’ve ever had in my life. But no matter what I always forced my ass back to that gym and that has what’s been the key to the progress I’ve made. Here’s to another 6 months of gains. We’re all gonna make it brahs.

I really needed to hear this. Just missed two sessions this week due to bad recovery after working out and progressing incredibly 6 days a week for 2 months.

I needed this. Just finished doing shoulders and I just didn't feel good about it afterwards. Guess I've got to let it go and move on. 💪

I'm sure these do better from a monetary stand point but I kiss your longer vids, I can't tell you how many times I've watched a vid dreading the gym just to be excited about it later, it's helped me a great deal on my way to 250 from 450 I'm almost there ty for the inspiration. And hope we can get a long vid occasionally again.
