"used to" and "would" are both used when talking about past habits . "past habits " or "things u do not do anymore." the difference is that "used to " can be used to express past habits both in static and action or motion verbs whereas "would " is used only for "action habits u usually do in the past ." Another is that "would " is very useful when u add details when talking about that "active habit " in the past but u may also use "used to" and there is no problem with that because "used to" is flexible than "would". However, u will sound redundant if u keep on using "used to" when u are telling about ur "past habits" so "would " is used instead to express details as shown in the "supporting sentences of the paragraph that he had shown on the last few minutes of the video. could i say i would drink wine when i was a child, i would eat meat during my childhood, i would speak some chinese letters when i was a child, i would play football during my younger age, i would run a lot when i was at school, i would go to church when i was 3 years old, i would come home after my class when i was a child
