The first bead and the last bead on the cap are the most challenging to keep straight IMO.

It’s interesting that smaller machines such as my emp 215 and emp 205 are rated for 5/16”, and people keep asking me if I can go higher, I say yes. I’ve never asked these manufacturers, but are they assuming, in their specs, a single pass? Because I can easily match this with my machines.

I weld stainless in the field (sheet metal worker) and I’ll tell you it’s so difficult. Having your whip straight, climbing down 20 ft in the air to adjust settings gets maddening

It would be good to see a side bend. I know some codes, atleast here in Australia require side bends for CV short circuit. Nice job though 👍🏻

Globular transfer nd no grinding on a weld test typically. Specially 1G😉🇺🇸

Your grind marks are 90° out, they need to be 90° to weld or stress risers result

Stainless videos are good but using a grinder to cut out metal to allow you to put in metal really isn't fair, you should practice it so it's only your weld passes and wire wheel/hand brush cleaning to meet the specs, and when bend testing center your coupon in the jig/with the ram so you are pushing evenly on the center of your weld not ending up with a coupon 1/2" higher on one side and not in the center of the

So is it 309 or 308 wire? . We run 309 if we're welding stainless to carbon. And 308 stainless to stainless full carbon . Bluemax stainless is nice aswell

i have a question .. sometimes the rod metal doesnt stick to both plates that am trying to weld unless i run the stick on a test plate to heatup the rod a bit and then it welds fine .. why is that ?
take into account all am using are cheap chinese rods.

I think I would've turned my wire speed down a bit and pushed instead of pulled
