For those who don't know, Aster wrote and directed a short film in 2011 just titled "BEAU", which follows an incredibly anxious man as he calls his mother, nervously tries to leave his apartment building, and is confronted by surreal and terrifying images and people.

It's possible that this movie could prove to be one of the best examples of turning a small, contained proof of concept into a massive, sprawling epic, still building on the same ideas and themes that the director communicated 12 years earlier.

A project 10 years in the making from the mind of Ari Aster I have full faith could be a masterpiece or at least a cult classic. Ari isn't only a great director but also an amazing writer who can simultaneously make something entertaining, head scratching, but structured with emotional complexity and depth.

He makes unique cinematic experiences and the cherry on top is the lead role is played by my favorite actor and it comes out on my birthday ☺️

I’m only halfway through watching it and I adore it. Ari Aster knows what I like. Movies that open up my skull and stir my brain around. The partially animated segments in particular are absolutely stellar

I am obsessing over this during the lead up to release. I hope everyone at work is prepared to hear about my perpetual loop of describing how amazing this is after I see it next month. 😅 I love you Ari & Joaquin!❤

This looks like a very high-quality box office bomb that confuses people upon release and then gets hailed many years later, forming a cult following. I think I'm going to love it.

Read the original script for this and it was absolutely insane. See a lot of scenes in the trailers that match it perfectly. This movie will not disappoint

I'm hoping to feel even more traumatized and hopeless like I did after watching Hereditary. This guy is a professional, not to mention his fantastic cast.

Dude the director of "Hereditary" working with in my opinion the greatest actor working gonna be EPIC! Joaquin has been my favorite actor since "Signs" in 2002. I was 6, going on 7 when that came out. He is in his absolute prime. 48 and still kicking ass!
