I normally just move it to one of the corners to find it.

Edit: Even better, I make my cursor a different colour so it pops out more.

I have a simple 1 screen laptop, and I STILL can sometimes lose the cursor off the edge of the screen (and it even sometimes freezes there, so I have force restart my laptop just to get it working again).
