War is truly hell!
A similar thing happened to my Great-Grandfather. He served in the Eastern Front and he saw his best friend explode right before his eyes and then his body parts rained down upon him. That moment never left him and he had nightmares for the rest of his life.

Good God, that father got closure that he needed to pass on.

I hate wars, conflicts, no matter on whose side. It’s a terrible irrational loss of life

That’s why I never got close to another soldier in my time during the gulf war and Afghanistan. No emotional baggage.

My Army brothers were murdered by friendly fire. I didn't talk about it for 37 years. The event never left my soul. Im almost 67 now, and barely a day goes by that i don't think about them. The murderer only served 8 years.

I think the translation is not correct. The name is Aloïs and not Éloïse.

Eloise was not a hero, was a invader, agressor

In Bataisk’s fields where echoes roam,
Mikhail stood, so far from home.
A comrade fought close by his side,
Until a sniper’s shot, his friend had died.

The name was Eloise, forever near,
The loss a wound that held no tear.
For years, the memory stayed inside,
Of a friend who fell, but never cried.

Through battles fought, through days of pain,
He marched through snow and biting rain.
Captured once, but freedom found,
He made it back to German ground.

One day, in a cathedral’s grace,
An old custodian met his gaze.
“My son went missing, ” he softly said,
“Eloise, his name, is he long dead?”

Mikhail’s heart, a burden bore,
He knew the truth from days of war.
With trembling hands and eyes that bled,
“Your son, he died a hero, ” he said.

Tears flowed down, both men were still,
Two lives entwined by fate’s cruel will.
In that sacred space, the pain was shared,
A father’s grief, a soldier’s prayer.
❤❤❤❤

At least he was able to give his father’s friend some closure by letting him know what happened to his son instead of him wondering if he was alive or dead and as terrible, thank you as it sounds please keep this in mind going missing in ww2 never to be heard from again was normal. So getting news that your loved one has fallen in battle was in fact a luxury thousands if not millions of people never got that Luxury unfortunately.

U Srbiji su ubijali sto srba, civila talaca, za jednog ubijenog nemca a pedeset za ranjenog a vi ih propagirate kao ljude zato što niste ni malo bolji, šta više.
