This is a recorded playthrough of Riven, one of my favorite games and, in my opinion, one of (if not, the) greatest adventure games ever made. There's not really much I can say about it that hasn't already been said. The visual design is beautiful. The story is unique and well-told. The puzzles are challenging, but logical, and fit perfectly into the game's world. I could gush for hours about all of the tiny little details in this game that make the world more immersive.

The main playthrough shows the good ending, the one where all of the game's objectives are accomplished. Also included at the end of the video is a compilation of all the alternative (bad) endings you can receive. Some of them are only slightly different, some of them are pretty unique.

Timeless masterpiece. To this day I turn to Riven or Myst or any of the other incarnations whenever the sometimes hectic, anonymous daily life gets to me and I need to slow down, breathe, refocus. This comes from a golden age of interactive entertainment.

My grandpa introduced me to Myst when I was about 5 years old (1993), and I played Riven with him when it came out in 1997. I still remember how cool and exciting it was to find that cable car thing for the first time, and to stumble upon those amphibious creatures!

As a sound designer, I can only take my hat off to Robyn Miller and the Sound Editors. Fantastic work that has truly stood the test of time.

I played this with my mom growing up never knew the name of the game till now but I remember as a kid I was blown away from the graphics and the sound

Jeez. I remember playing this on my old Macintosh computer back in the 90's. That beautifully designed game disc case with 4 or 5 discs inside and that ominous eye on the cover. Thanks for the upload.

Wow so many memories come flooding back watching this, I remember sitting round the computer with my parents and my brother and sister and just playing this and trying to solve the puzzles together. Makes me feel very nostalgic

So strange. As a child I remember progression in this game being somewhat intuitive and made it roughly 3/4 through the game. Tried to replay it as an adult and couldn't get off the first island without help.

Oh sense of nostalgia is almost aching...
I somehow remember ALL of this, deep within my subconscious mind.
What a great game.
And astonishingly beautiful, detailed, and advanced for it's day. Hell, even now it looks good. The 3D graphics absolutely hold up.
