Singed is My Favorite Character in Arcane and Here's Why

The Netflix animated series Arcane has quickly rose to immense popularity over the past few weeks. As a League of Legends player myself I couldn't wait to see how good it would be and boy were my expectations blown away! So I wanted to give some thoughts about my personal favorite character from Arcane, Singed.

I love Singed because he has a sort of omni-presence, he’s responsible for so many champions coming into existence (e.g Warwick, Oriana) and induced transformations in others like jinx and victor

Singed is lowkey one of the most important character in modern Runeterra. He has his fingers in so many pies. He invented Shimmer, causing what is basically the evolution of modern day Chemtech. He shaped the transformations of Jinx and Viktor. He personally created Warwick. And thats just within Zaun. His actions have caused incredible devastation in Ionia, shaping the lives of nearly every champion there but especially Master Yi. The use of his weapons has also caused an intense amount of talking within Noxian borders as well, causing rebellions and more. And I doubt it will end there. He isn’t done yet, and shows no signs of stopping.

i main Singed and absolutely loved his portrayal in Arcane. He always gives advice, never refuses to offer help, and even acknowledges the possible outcomes. Everyone is either pushed or pulled by him but he never forces anyone to do anything. You also never see him directly kill anyone but he creates things and save people that do. He just centers around his goals and doesn't care about anything else. Singed just causes mass chaos from the ripple effects he produces just like a poison trail behind him.

Singed is the character that when I saw him for the first time in the show, I thought that he would be a generic villain or a throw away reference.

Never have I been so glad to be so wrong, He effected the ENTIRE SERIES from the shadows. Hes basically the walking embodiment of what scientific research without restraint can do. Hes walked the path Victor is walking but he started long ago and no longer has concerns about ethics and how his research is used... as long as it can continue. In the end it doesn't matter if hes cruel or kind, has empathy or is a psycho. The research must continue.

I love how singed in the show was still ABSOLUTELY INSANE this man is, but he is both fully aware of his actions and why they are seen as bad and can even agree with it. That said he gives the impression that he does these things because it’s all he has left for him, like a man whose trying to do more then just pass the time that he has

There's a difference between a retcon and exploration. They could easily tie Ori's lore to Singed so easily without changing anything.

Man, I can't wait to see Warwick in season 2 especially since I main him in League and I want to see Vi's and Jinx's reaction to finding out that Warwick is Vander.

I love the little detail of Viktor looking surprised when Singe just casually mentions that he used to work for Heimindinger.

As someone who knows the lore, we are going to see more of Singed. He is one of the influential characters in not just Arcane, but the entirety of the lore.

Silco was my favourite, I was expecting him to be a one dimensional villian but the more I watched the show the more he surprise me

theres a no bullshit matter of fact way he communicates i really like. he's straight up, theres no deception, he is who he is, does says exactly what he says and gives fair warning to others before he solicits any aid that is asked. he's probably the most honest character in arcane, and yet with all that information he's still ambiguous and mysterious.

I can see a possible scenarios where Victor creates Oriana for Signed as a sign of gratitude in helping him transform himself and also a demonstration of the power of hextech to replace flesh with living metal. That would be a very interesting plot line to explore. Now its time to JOIN THE GLORIOUS EVOLUTION.

Singed set off a lore domino effect. He's responsible for Riven, who, then, is responsible for Yasuo, who, finally, is responsible for Yone.

One thing I'll correct: Singed is not pulling any strings. At all. He is creating the strings that everybody else will start pulling. He just does his thing and through it influences all of Runeterra. He is the source of so many legends and so many global conflicts without knowing or caring. He is scientist (a bit of a mad one) and that's about it. What I love about Singed is that he is so influential without even trying, knowing or caring. Makes us the viewers consider our own impact on the world. It only takes one person to change the world in the right context. You might be the one influencing said person.

Amazing character in the show. Not my favorite (I like Jayce more) but definitely one of the most interesting ones. Also I love playing him in the game despite having no idea what I'm supposed to do 😅

It's poetically beautiful that in a land of gods, celestials, demons and darkin, mages and warlords, rich and powerful elite that control the police, economy, and war. That the one person who shapes the world the most out of all of them is simply a scientist who lives in a cave and exists as an absolute for the standards and goals he upholds. Singed was the first league character ever designed. And despite the fact that the void continues to send abominations into the world from the ruins of Icathia and the deepest depths of the Freljord, and there are mages who fight with the powers of gods over runestones powerful enough to unmake the planet which they all live upon, it is all spokes, that turn on the wheel of one man.

singed has his hands in the lore and character development of basically every non-deity lol champ. his ever lurking shadow of chemical genocide and unit 731-tier live experimentation is so unique to lol lore specifically

I'm very simple. I like singed a lot. I main him in league, and my friends were curious if I'd appreciate how they handled him. I absolutely love it. He is just how I always imagined him - in the background, ruining things for everyone else, and I can't wait to see him fight in a future season. I had the biggest stupid smile on my face every time he was on screen.

if orianna was singed's daughter it wouldn't even need to be a retcon, they could simply reveal singed to be oriannas father corin reveck. singed used to be a a student at the university of piltover so the only thing they would have to do for the reveal is fill out some details
