While we don't see any being built now, there are STILL a lot of concrete ( ferrocrete due to the rebar in them ) yachts in the world. Most well maintained and not in any danger of being abandoned or sinking.

The cement boat still exists, albeit dilapidated and crumbling under tidal stress. One of the examples rests on the Northern California coast south of Santa Cruz. Named the S.S. Palo Alto, you can still see her at Seacliff state beach.

Why no mention of Ford's Hemp Car ?? There are videos of it here on YouTube. You all should watch them, especially where he smashes the blunt side of an ax onto the trunk lid of the car & it barely leaves a mark. The car was built to run on hemp fuel. The body was made of hemp fibers, likened to using fiberglass today. Even the seats were covered with cloth made from hemp.
