Why Did Teen Cowboy Jarret Brooks Take a Gun & Disappear?! Haunting Security Footage

A teenager who has been missing for more than a year took a gun from the family's gun safe before sneaking out of his house early on the 4th of July. Jarrett Brooks, 16, was seen on his parents' security cameras grabbing the pistol and creeping around the house in Joseph City, Arizona, at about 6:30 am. The footage showed him stuffing the gun into the front waistband of his black and gray basketball shorts soon before he disappeared on July 4, 2023.

First off, just because his friends were asked if they had seen or spoken to him, and they said no, doesn't mean they are telling the truth. For him to walk off with a firearm, says to me, that something was up, something in his mind that was serious enough to go against his being grounded. I suspect that his friends know more than they are letting on. I'm sure they are scared to say anything due to the fact that Jarrett is now missing.

My husband was a pipeline worker and I traveled with him. We got sent to Joseph City a week after he went missing. I have been following his case ever since. Joseph City is a tiny town. No grocery store, no anything but a Loves truck stop. I follow all groups for him on FB. My husband and I went out to the area he went missing and looked ourselves. I'm glad his case is FINALLY gaining the attention it deserves. In my honest opinion, I don't think he disappeared willingly

I think it is very possible that he is alive and well. I ran away at age 15 and my family had to check morgues and knew nothing about me for two years. The night I ran away I took nothing with me, no ID, no clothing, etc. The night I ran away it was right after being grounded. From the outside looking in, people would’ve thought I had a great life, but I had some very big issues at home with a stepfather. All that to say, I think there is at least a decent chance that he is alive and well and will resurface when he’s 18.

Sadly, I think you hit the nail on the head with the last one. Someone seen him walking on their property, carrying and something bad happened. He must have gotten into it with someone the night before in order for him to have been so hell bent on leaving that morning and taking a pew pew with him. I really hate this for his parents. The lost scent at the road sounds logical that he met someone there. Or maybe he hitch hiked from that spot.
I feel really bad for his family tho.
My brother is missing and the not knowing is torture.
