3:25 I use the USB drive to Play files from my MAC. on to a Vintage TV to watch Digital Videos.

Some times it says file Unsurpported.

Thanks, I was looking for a tuner I could connect to a HiFi stereo with a little monitor so I could listen to television. Looks like this will work with the RCA connections

I have QAM (not OTA) coming thru on my cable coax and this found all the channels. Unfortunately the channels come up as PR#### and because they aren't OTA, there is no information for the channel and EPG is empty. But this is a minor issue for getting free cable TV with a PVR box that also plays torrent movies and videos. I can change the names on the channels, but the device slowly forgets the names as well as my favorite settings.

Hi, does the signal have to be from an HDTV antennae, or can this be used for standard SD cable TV? For example to upgrade a newer TV that doesn't have a TV tuner built in so we can watch regular cable TV and change the channels.

Is the dvr capable of constant recording? meaning that if it’s possible to pause a live channel for several minutes?

FYI, I did a factory reset, the code is all zeros. Now it seems to work properly. It turns on at the set time and turns off at the timed end. It records well to my 2tb USB drive.. I cannot figure out most of the controls it definitely needs a better instruction manual. In order to remove the plastic film I had to remove the cover. It seems the plastic film was applied before the cover was installed and the film was wrapped around and inside be unit.

I'm currently on my 2nd Aluratek converter box...My current one basically just stopped working after 5-6 months...here's the kicker..I purchased my 2nd Aluratek converter box...because the same thing happened with the 1st one...

Need help please...
I have an Aluratek digital converter box, an antenna, and an external hard drive for recording TV programs. I receive channels, change channels all fine.
I am not able to set up program timers to actually, successfully record programs. My converter box is connected to the tv via coax and the TV is set on channel #3. ( I have also tried red/white/yeIlow cable)
I have tried scheduling programs from the EPG guide, through the Programmed Time Record menu, and also using the Timer button. It seems to schedule timed programming, but the program doesn't get recorded, no picture and no sound. I leave the converter box on. The storage hard drive is new, so not full.
Please assist me with this, so that I can actually record successfully.

I have been strugling to set-up the Alurtec using the poorly written instructions and diagrams. An example, there is no indication of where to attach the antenna coaxial Cable. I hope I can get it to work!

Is this asct 3.0 tuner have good 65 inch tv baught at walmart but it only has asct 1.0 tuner and lots of channels in my area broadcasting now in both 1.0 and 3.0 asct don't want to get a new tv if I can buy a simple acts 3.o converter to use my current tv thanks

Hi, I've watched all of your converter box videos and have watched many others on YouTube. I purchased the Aluratek because it was the only one Best Buy carried. I've noticed that all of them are similar, many have the exact same remote, panel layouts, menus, including fonts and useless set of alphanumeric LED's on the front panel. I suspect they are all made by the same manufacturer.
My Aluratek has a terrible user manual, it doesn't describe the functions of half the remote buttons or menu options. Contacting Aluratek sales is useless the email response is a generic reply. No one there can explain the various functions not covered in the manual. For example, I made a recording and hit the preview button on the menu. It played 20 seconds of the recording and looped to the start, I couldn't undo it and deleted the 1 hour video. Some of my other problems are, 1, When the timer is set and the unit is off, it takes a minute or two to boot up and start recording. You will lose some content. When the unit is off, it will turn on and record, then at the end the unit stays on, it doesn't power down. 3 what the devil are those LED's for? They either say "boot" or "C001" that's all. 4 playback, I would like to skip a portion, the fast forward advances 2x 4x 8x then stops after a minute or two of playback it freezes. Hitting play starts the playback again. The fast forward just doesn't work properly. The only thing that worked was it did recognize the 2tb drive and it writes to it well. A flash drive is useless, I have a good quality USB- 2 drive 64mb and it doesn't work. It seems that most of these faults are software related, but a firmware update cannot be found. Don't expect any help with operation on the website either.
If you have any ideas to help I'd appreciate it. Oh, I did have a great DVR with a digital tuner, but It was lost and it seems DVR's have been discontinued. Thanks, Tom in Phoenix USA
