At this point I'm glad they changed these blobs to actual extremely obese humans, it sells better the message that this movie wants to convey.

To be honest, changing them to regular humans was a better decision because it fits the narrative of the story better. Having them be blobs that come out of a tube wouldn’t really get said narrative across nearly as well, since they would be much harder to relate the average person to.

I think the fact that they are still humans adds a lot to the movie. Especially during the end moments when after years and years of immobile laziness, when the captain takes the first steps, that’s truly iconic

the idea they went with is honestly a million times better for the film and it's message. imagine literal lazy blobs that used to be human trying to rebuild earth

Sort of wonder what the resolution to the story of returning to earth would involve? Do the blob people change themselves into humans? Do they somehow adapt and change over time back on earth? Was this going to be a prequel to Elemental?

A lot of people complain that the second half of WALL-E is too goofy, honestly though we should be glad they didn’t go with THIS.

Such a good change. We can’t evolve into blobs that quickly, but we can become grossly overweight over the course of a generation (I mean even more so).

Does anyone else think it’s hilarious that the humans became more Pixar cartoonish as they got fatter?? They were actual people at first. Pixar is just a result of morbid obesity.

So basically humans evolved into Yokiens from Jimmy Neutron.

Auto was also voiced by an actual computer program called MacInTalk. They changed the pitch to get that menacing deep voice and then just typed in Auto’s lines to the program.
