Thanks so much for your videos, I've spent hours watching them. I really appreciate you guys making such an effort! So as a new artist, I'm a bit confused when to use a press release (which I've written thanks to your guidance) VS an EPK. So if I want to pitch to blogs and radio stations etc, which one should I use? There's a lot of overlap!

Hey guys, love the videos. I’ve been binging them whilst in isolation and there is some really valuable content, so thank you for that!

I have a quick question about EPKs... when should I send them? I know you’ve mentioned in previous videos to not attach anything in the initial email to journalists as they will go to spam or the person won’t trust to open it, so would you send the initial email and sign off saying ‘if you’d like me to send my EPK through let me know’ and wait for the response? And I take it this EPK is different from a press release and used to go alongside that?

Thanks again and I really look forward to your response.😁

A high-resolution image is anything that has at least 300 dpi high resolution with a larger pixel dimension, for example, 5000 x 4000 pixels. If you have an image that is 640 x 40 at 72dpi, you definitely have too small of an image! SO a really low dpi image that is over 1 megabyte - it is still LOW resolution!! Remember to look at DPI instead of file size and also look at file dimensions. A 200 x 200 pixel image even at 300 dpi is not good if you need the image to be 1200 x 1200. When you stretch this image to 1200px it will become blurry. Image DPI and image dimensions matter more than file size. - Thanks, great advice and channel!

Great video. Would you advise having an EPK even on your first release if you dont have many of those things like blog features etc?

This is a good comprehensive video about how to make an EPK, but very intimidating for a beginner who's just releasing their first single. How can i make an EPK if I am just starting, barely having any social media presence and no streams yet? Is it even sensible to make an epk in this case, cause there's basically nothing in but a bio and photos? Should i just leave it with a bio in my E-Mails for the beginning. Also I would like to mention that some examples here make me wonder, i doubt that somebody with 40k insta followers or 100k Spotify followers needs to do this all on their own. I'm happy about more tips, thank you.

Hyperlink, I know what a hyperlink is can you do a vid on how to execute all the tasks/10 commands in this vid? Like what program you recommend building an Epk? That’s enough for me to go research how to use the program and start creating hyperlink Epk

Is there another way to put an epk together for smaller artist like myself?

I don’t have millions of view or plays but if a promoter sees “500+plays” wouldn’t that make them less likely to choose me for an event? Any recommendations?

Hi there.

What would you advise for new bands / artists who don't have most of these? I actually have most of them as an individual, but not specifically with my exact current band lineup / concept.

Another point is that I don't have any releases yet. I have a complete release-ready album (and more), but I want to use an EPK (along with private link to the album) to approach labels or sponsors in order to help me team up with the right people to release this without it being wasted. I can produce endless, commercial-release-ready material, but that's as far as I can go alone. I don't have the funds or expertise to take release, promotion, tour-arrangement, etc., to a high enough level. I understand how to release and promote to a basic level, but I do not have the leverage or funding to do this to a large enough scale.

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Question... do you guys make music yourselves? Anywhere we can hear it if so?

So if you're not signed and you make your music yourself and you don't have impressive social media presence, is an epk useful? How do you approach growth when you have no proof to back you up.
