Siemens has removed the immensely valuable MRI Shulder video where they place positioning wedges under the opposite side of the patient, which lies them on the affect side's shoulder plane. This almost always reduces considerably respiratory motion artifacts (and weirdly, reduces anxiety). Saturation bands cannot suppress respiratory motion when that motion is moving the very part you are scanning. Tilting the patient is immensely helpful.
I noticed in the new video this has been abandonedin the set-up; why?
But when the first three plane localizer images are seen, it looks to me that the patient most probably has been tilted, since the scaular plane is near parallel to the coronal plane. Later scans however seem t be a different patient. Sad that Siemens forgot to include this great technique in their new video.

Does the positioning matter with a shoulder mri? The tech I saw placed my arm over my stomach and I was basically leaning to the right.

At some point I have to go to have my 2nd MRI scan on my shoulder to find out why my shoulder keeps dislocating and popping out which is extremely painful I’ve had an MRI before when I was younger on my head.

I have doubt about the positioning of patient
for MRI of shoulder.
Here it shown as palm open up or supinated?
Or the effected shoulder should be placed with the palm facing towards body and Thumb up .
