How To Remove And Replace 2005-2009 Ford Mustang Convertible Quarter Window & Regulator

This video demonstrates how to remove and replace your 2005-2009 Ford Mustang convertible window regulator and quarter glass. Tools needed are: 10mm & 11mm socket, ratchet and extension. Our left side window would not roll all the way up, it would roll up halfway then roll back down while the right side rolled up with no issues.

My guy, you have saved me hundreds of dollars. I went online and bought a window with full assembly for $250 and popped that thing in just as shown and avoided a $500 bill for them buying the window and components, and then another $120 in labor!

In addition, my valve cover was leaking so instead of even asking a mechanic, I just bought one and replaced it myself!

Another several hundred dollars saved!

Bought 2 full window assemblys at junk yard for 150 total local shop wanted 1k for job Great vid took me about 30 mins per side I bought both sides my pulleys and wires were toast but didn't even need to change motors actuators windows motors all work great hardest part was getting side plastic piece that covers speakers lined up and back on now I gotta get some water n mold out have it detailed and im good! Have a 06 GT convertible could not have done it without this vid thanks!

Thanks for the very helpful video on this repair. My regulator cable was broken at the plastic end. I purchased a new rear Motorcraft regulator $150 which came with a motor and I was able to simply swap my good glass over on 2 nuts. Of course I dropped one of the nuts holding the trim into the abyss and while fishing it out I dropped my iPhone down there for good measure 🤦‍♂️!! I also lubed all the top folding pivot points and the top moves much smoother. Good luck everyone!

Thank you. I took my '06 sled to three auto glass places and they all refused to do the work. I finally found a convertible top expert to do the right side but he charged $650. Now the left side is failing. I wish I'd seen this video before! ❤😊

I really need to know what outer trim that is. All the OEM replacements for the trim cost upwards of 300 for just one section of it.

Thanks, this is great! It helped me to replace the quarter window on my 2009 Ford Mustang Convertible after needing to break it due to locking my key into the car with no access to my backup key. :-) The only problem was the removal of the exterior molding. While I didn't crack mine when folding back (I did not fold it back), none of the little "plugs" came out of their sockets, but they broke off the plastic. It seems as they break before they would come out of their socket.

I have the same exact car, top goes back up no problem just the two back quarter windows don’t even move at all. They only went down once when I put the top down but never rolled back up. Not sure if I need to replace it but it sure seems like I do.

Great video! I was trying to find how to remove the backseat door panels to get to the convertible top cylinders and no only does this video do that, but gives a great view of the cylinders themselves!
You wouldn’t happen to have a video of replacing the cylinders on a 2006, would you?

My window does work but only halfway so reading through the comments, it looks like it is probably the plastic piece on the pulley cord...I did hear a loud snap...am going to check it out now with much more confidence after watching....thanks again and yeah, magnetic screwdriver for sure!
