There are a few different places to get an Orient Bambino. Check for best prices.

Today we are taking a long-overdue look at the Orient Bambino Small Seconds. What could easily be the best-looking watch in Orient's Bambino Line. The last time I looked at a Bambino there were only 4 versions, now there are 7 (maybe 8). So Orient is intent on expanding this lineup.

The Small Seconds shares a case with its Version 1, 2, 3, an 5 cousins. So not much different to expect there. 40.5mm wide, and powered by orient's in-house F6222 movement. For those that are looking for a budget dress watch, this is one to check out. Or for those that wised Timex had made a larger version of the Marlin Mechanical, this has a simmilar look.

Thanks for this review. I love Orient Bambino watches. They give style and quality for a very reasonable price.
The small seconds looks a million dollars to me. Absolutely beautiful!

I really appreciate your reviews very much. You cover everything anyone would need to know in a very considered way, meticulous but still entertaining. And as a sub note I've just bought this same model largely based on your review so thank you!

I sold my v4 Bambino to help fund the purchase of an Orient Polaris. If I were going to get a Bambino again, I think the small seconds would be at the top of my list. Nice review!

Gorgeous piece!!! I do have 4 Orient watches in my humble collection... But I think if this model came in a smaller version, it would be perfect!!!! 37mm is the sweet spot for a dress watch ...

Thanks for the very nice review. I have three Bambinos including this one. This is my favorite. It wears thinner than it is due to the domed crystal. On my wrist, the extra 1mm of thickness created by the see-through case back actually helps mitigate against my protruding wrist bone and I love being able to see the movement.

Totally agree, it is chunky. They should drop the exhibition back, and the date. That might allow them to slim it down at least to 10mm. 38mm diameter would be better as well.

I like the small seconds but hadn't realised it was thicker than normal. Thanks for showing it.

I like the open heart. Much like oxford dress shoes with broguing or a cap toe, i find the details make it more casual and suitable for dressing down

You know I actually cancelled my order for the same Gen 2 V2 that you have but was told that it was ready for despatch as I was going to change my mind and get the champagne dial small seconds. Anyway it arrived. Upon opening the box, I thought to myself, I nearly missed out on this beauty of I were to have returned it. Its a stunning looking watch with the rose gold roman numerals, sweeping second hand and vintage looks. Now after seeing this video of the small seconds version and knowing I could have ordered it instead, I'm glad I got to open the box of the Gen 2. It's met every expectation I had. I know it'll be quite some time now before I look at getting another watch.

I'm thinking of getting a Timex Marlin Snoopy silhouette. Before they stop making them.

Love the Bambino but ended up returning it and got the Vostok Classica 690B24 instead. I am very happy with it. Mechanical (not automatic), thin, simple, and slightly smaller in diameter than the Bambino. Better for dress on my 7.5” wrist. I even kept the inexpensive black leather strap because it just looked perfect. Price $145.

A nice little watch as is. A no date version would be killer. Cheers

Great review. I agree with you, a display back is really unnecessary on this watch. I wish Orient made a Bambino a no-date. Fantastic videography :)

A fine review. You should take a look at the golden Seiko Solar watch. It's small, slim, rectangular, classy, elegant - and quite accurate. It doesn't have a seconds hand nor a date indicator, though. (Personally, I don't mind.) I mention it because it has the advantage in terms of accuracy and size. And yes, it falls within the same price range as the 2nd generation bambino.

I think it looks great simple dial that's nice and clean with a small second hand and the date moved to the center just little looks great, and the dial with the sunburst has a great look.

I just ordered toe rose gold version and think it will look great on my 8 inch wrist. I have already sourced a custom long 21mm vintage style band. I will be using the stock Orient gold buckle on it so that everything flows visually. Thanks Shane!
