This Bambino series looks quite good. Yes, some will quibble over the Thailand-vs-Japan thing, but while I sort of understand the sentiment, in reality it makes little if any difference these days in terms of quality. (BTW, I agree with your choice of the Tuxedo finish...and so does my cat.)

Orient doesn't get the acclaim it deserves compared to other Japanese watchmakers. It is always overshadowed by Seiko, Citizen and Casio. The quality Orient produces for such an affordable price means it should be more high profile than it is.

You know what is funny about these new Bambino(s)? They are somehow more expensive in Thailand than in Japan despite being made in Thailand! It has just become available earlier this month (later than Japan) and it retails around 12, 000 THB while costing 45, 000 JPY or 9, 400 THB in Japan, some retailers there even sell discount around 31, 000 JPY or 71, 000 THB. I know it doesn’t sound like much money but my country’s average income per month is 13, 000 THB so yeah.

I hope Made in Thailand doesn't affect quality
If orient is going this route then mostly all there previous Bambino models price will shoot up since they are made in japan and we are crazy about that

Made in Thailand….as Thai I could only hope that Orient chose carefully for a factory, we have a decent QC factory like those that made G-Shock or those that made WISE (It’s a Thai microbrand, superb quality but wayyy to pricey for me) but we also have a lot that made a crappy trash or cheap copies or both.
