Gen 4 SSDs are impressively fast, apparently none more so than this, the Patriot Viper VP4100 - a drive that, if you rub it just the right way, can eek out over 5.6GB/s in read performance, so lets take a look at it.

I have 3 of these VP4100 one 2tb and two 1tb (cost efficiency reasons) so 4tb total. They are lightning fast, although not actually as fast as say, Samsung evo pros when it comes to load times in gaming, but the difference is only like 9.5s vs 10.0s for example, so hardly noticeable. I love the look and feel, they hold up and are running strong even after a year of use and being near 90% full on 2 of my 3 drives. Slightly expensive, but I like these a lot.

will this fit inside laptop because of heatsink?

Got it for C2077 and next gen games that'll get use of it, for rest I have just a normal 2Tb Crucial MX500. No overheating assuming it's in well vented case (tested in Asus TUF GT501) since beware that some low end cases with higher temp components might cause this bad boy to thermal throttle and people had to install additional vent to blow at it.

Dont fall for the false marketing. 5.5GB/s doesnt mean shite. Thats sequential. Nothing beat Samsung NVMe's, especially on Random 1Q/1T tests (Which is real life usage)
