I arrived at Illinois for grad school in 2004 and was immediately spoiled, lol. Went to NCAA championship game in basketball in 2005, was here for the Ron Zook run in 2007, White Sox even won a championship while I was in school here, though I’m from Seattle, lol (loved Flyin’ Illini since they came to Seattle in ‘89 for the Final Four). Still here, working at the U of I now and the past couple of decades since grad school has been rough… All kudos to Josh Whitman. Arizona game is tops, but I still remember when Juice Williams tore Ohio State up when they were #1, and that long drive to kill the clock at the end. Winning is fun, fun is winning!
