Kids Honor Loved Ones They Never Met During 9/11 Ceremony

More and more of those reading the names of victims who perished on 9/11 are too young to have known their lost loved ones. Some of them weren't even born. One young lady wants to become a firefighter like her uncle Christopher Mozzillo. "Grandpa Eddie, although I never got the chance to meet you, we share many of the same interests. People always tell me we share the same smile and happy energy. I wish I could have met you," one man says.

As the sun came up 23 years ago today 2, 977 people went about their morning just like any other day. They had no idea that was the last day they would be mothers, fathers, cousins, grandparents, sons, daughters, workers, and many other roles to the those that they were entwined with. They sat in traffic, gossiped at the coffee pot, listened to the sports scores on the radio. Packed lunches and got kids ready for school.

May we never forget that for those people that was the last morning they would ever do those things that we each do on a daily basis.

We must never take for granted how special each and every day is and cherish time as nobody knows when each one will be our last.

Life is a precious gift and a day only 24hrs.

I was 5 when this happened. Almost lost my big bro that day. He used to work in one of the buildings but luckily, he woke up late that day and when he got there, both buildings already got hit. The only thing i vividly remember from that was my grandma picking me up from school and my brother's work suit going from shiny black to dusty grey from debris. It was a very depressing day indeed. May all the lives that perished that day r.i.p 🙏 ❤

Can’t believe it’s been 23 years since that horrible and tragic day. The images of that day will stay with us till the day we die. So many innocent people died in the most horrific ways possible. 😢

I don’t know anyone who died on 9/11, but I’m in a similar situation as these kids since I was a baby when 9/11 happened and therefore, have no memory of where I was. What I do remember is growing up mainly in the complicated aftermath as many other kids. The hurt never gets easier with each passing year; this was a bittersweet yet important tribute for these kids in the video: to learn about the attacks and carry on the legacies of those who lost their lives, even if these kids never met their lost relatives.
