Finally Got My Solar Chargers Working With My 5V Solar Panel & LiPo Battery

In this video I continue on with my learning phase of my final year project. The first part of the learning phase is to create the entire project using commercial (non-diy) parts to understand the workings of each of the boards. The first half of the project is a solar panel, a charge controller and a battery. In the last video I managed to get my 12V solar panel working with a new solar charge controller. I still had another 4 solar charge controllers I hadn't used and so I bought a 5V solar panel. In this video I manage to get 2 of those 4 charge controllers working. I think for the rest of this learning phase, I'll be using the 5V panel with the 3.7V LiPo battery.

One thing that helps a lot with understanding these controllers is to look at the main IC in them and then lookup it’s capabilities.

You could also get a 20 volt big solar panel amorphous. Get a cig input adapter. A 12 24 volt to 5 volt usb car adapter plug in a 5 volt power bank and be done. Of course those small chargers are nice to. But only use those adapter win sun is up. Or it could have timer problems and burn out. Just saying be careful.

Hi nice video! Can you post the links where you ordered solar panel, battery and that circuit, etc? I want to connect the esp32, operating range 2.2-3.6v

Hey I was wondering if the DFR solar charger could power up an arduino if that is possible

you have given me ideas on how to make some led cob lights for me camper van, using them batts, and a 5/6v solar panel, I use AAA rechargeable, but a right pain in ass to recharge, your way a lot easier, could do with a DFROBOT 900mA MPPT Solar Panel Controller, but cannot find it, you are better then me at this, I cant even solder, :)
