If using DVD then create USB bootable media.
Need a working computer with internet access and USB flash drive
Note- You will lose all the data and apps
Step 1) Delete all the partition and use unallocated space drive to install Windows
Step 2) Perform Diskpart to format HDD
1. Click Repair your computer on the setup window.
2. Then select Troubleshoot / and choose Command Prompt on Advanced options screen.
3. In Command Prompt window, type following commands mentioned in bold and press Enter key after each:

diskpart
list disk
select disk # (replace # with number of drive to which you're installing Windows)
clean
convert mbr
exit

Close Command Prompt.
Step 3) Try both UEFI and Legacy in BIOS

I have an issue after typing clean, it says that it cant do it because of in/out device error
Same when i type convert mbr, it says that CD-ROM and DVD drives cannot be converted.
I have ssd in caddy on my laptop, pls help

i have an hp laptop i am using the usb on. it originally had windows 7, but i am trying to put 8.1 on it. how do i do secure boot as that is not an option under system configuration?

For me, the problem turned out the usb flash drive I was using. It worked when I switched to a different 8gb usb stick.

I have try all my possible best, I download new Microsoft media creation tools (USB bootable) I "perform diskpart" on the pc for clean installation but still not working, is still showing me the same error.

and re-create bootable pendrive and try it's worked for me
