BROOKLYN DUO BIO:

Founded in 2014, Brooklyn Duo has quickly established itself as one of today’s most successful classical crossover ensembles. Through its creative arrangements and live video performances, the piano and cello duo has garnered a huge following, with over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and over 150 million streams annually on platforms such as Spotify and Pandora Radio.

In 2014, the couple arranged and recorded two pop covers and released them on YouTube. Shakira noticed the duo’s cover and promoted it to her 130 million-plus fan base, saying: “We're loving Brooklyn Duo's piano/cello cover of Empire! Great work guys." The boost that resulted from that exposure and the positive response they were getting on YouTube encouraged Marnie and Patrick to continue creating videos. (Other notable shout-outs since then include ones from Taylor Swift, a-ha and Pearl Jam.)

Today, Marnie and Patrick have released over 100 videos on their Brooklyn Duo YouTube channel and 10 albums of covers, spanning artists from The Beatles to Metallica to Ariana Grande. They also have a second YouTube channel, "Brooklyn Classical", which aims to introduce classical music to a larger audience through high quality, live video performances. Brooklyn Classical often hosts high-profile guest artists, including the world-renowned Dover and Escher string quartets, percussionist Ivan Trevino and cellist Cicely Parnas.

Popular classical music stations Classic FM and WQXR regularly share Brooklyn Duo’s music on their social media pages, with Classic FM calling the duo “masters of the artfully planned pop cover.” Their music has also been featured on several television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and America's Got Talent.

OMG, this just brought so many tears to my eyes. When my daughter, living out of state, went into very premature labor, we were all so scared. Before we left to be with her, we sent her a version of this song, just to reassure her we're on our way. The baby spent weeks in the NICU and we were with them the whole time. Happy to say, my granddaughter is a happy healthy 7 year old. This song got us all thru a very tough time and just showed my daughter that no matter what, Daddy will always be there. Thank you for your beautiful rendition.

I'm a 35 your old man. I've been shot, I've cut the tip of my finger in a hydraulic press, and I've driven a nail through my hand with a nail gun. I cut the umbilical cord of both of my children and held them mere seconds after they were born. I lost both of my grandfathers in the same year in unexpected deaths, and I've watched my father battle back-to-back prostate and colon cancer. None of that made me cry. But today I found your Youtube channel, and this is the third song I've listened to, and I've had tears streaming down my face for the last 10 minutes. Memories and pain from the past are flooding in and I feel like I'm finally releasing years of feelings that I've packed away because I had to deal with situations in the moment. Music is fucking amazing, and you guys are incredible. Thank you!

Q. Your Life story in relation to Music, At what age did you start lessons and when did you finish formal lessons? Who influenced you? Did you swap instruments at sometime? if so what ect. It's also obvious you have got some serious connections, how did you make some of those connections? There is way more to you two than just popping up on youtube!

Sheer brilliance. Many have tried this piece, some have even succeed, but I don't thank anyone has excelled until now.
