DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE… when constructing a fish room

I have a wierd ugly tile in my fish room. It's works good. I just need to learn how to wear shoes because my feet constantly get soaked.

former contractor-- knew what this was soon as I saw the after photos, but that's experience, these things look really good in person. I cheered when I saw Luke chose these. have this same stuff in my bathroom and kitchen/dining, so the waterproof is real. and if a section of it warps for any reason, it's a ton easier to replace just that bit of the click flooring without replacing the whole floor. (might have to pull up a whole quarter of the floor or whatever to get to it but the undamaged parts can be put back down/together).

There are different types of vinyl flooring, he's talking about luxury vinyl almost certainly which won't swell expand has no wood or organic materials. It has underlayment attached underneath and is 100% water proof won't scratch but can chip..if every seam is set tight and he caulkes the edge seam he's fine. I also layed plastic and 3mm underlayment under mine when I did it so it is 1000% water tight moisture safe.

Wood laminate floor will swell from just an ice cube melting on it, getting into seam.


Be sure to caulk around edges of vinyl floor against walls,
water getting underneath vinyl floor will stagnate and mold.

Vinal when wet for a long period of time can still warp and come apart and has a chance of mold build up

Only thing I’d be worried about is water collecting under those stock tanks

the polyvinylchloride (PVC) in "vinyl is actually an organic compound. In chemistry the designation of "organic" merely means contains carbon, not "natural."

My family home in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa got flooded twice and the vinyl wooden flooring hasn’t even budged or bubbled. Stuffs indestructible

I have LVP in my animal room (mostly turtle tanks and a goldfish tank) and I love it. I'm always spilling water, have overflowed tanks and had tank seals leak and had water sitting on the floor for days before I noticed 😳 flooring is still good though! I love that vinyl is waterproof and a lot cheaper to install than tile

The room where I have my fish is hardwood because it is also used as a kitchen and when my family bought the house it was already like that

This is a very good idea. Because when my 20 liter nano tank exploded while I was sleeping, my hardwoods were floating :(
