Why this 1+x for negative!!!

In positive index we stop expansion after a limit but in negative index or fractive index can we expand as much as we want

Sir, for the signs b/w the terms of expansion, like [1/(1-×)]=1+x+x^2+x^3+....

its all +sign b/w the terms.
So is der any fixed patterns so tat we can use to crosscheck?
