Ok Im going to state this but for the love of all that is nature and the universe PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A HOUSE BOAT ON THE OCEAN OR OPEN WATER. You can take it on rivers, bays, lagoons, lakes, ponds, and everything but open ocean water but unless you want your home destroyed please take a real ship like one that needs sails on it like a pontoon or schooner like sailboats. As someone who lives near houseboats in Louisiana bayous, they can survive hurricanes but definitely best to take them up river away from the coast and prepare it, tie it to a sturdy tree or boat launch anything that can with stand the hurricane force winds but expect damages alway expect damages during a hurricane no matter what house you live in.

I’m disabled which makes traveling very difficult. This would be so ideal. Although. Right now I’m looking for a skoolie. (Converted bus into a home). I can see all of the US without having to carry all my medical stuff, service dog and clothes etc.... just an idea.
We also travel into disaster areas and rescue animals and people if they need it. And there’s never a place to stay because most had to evacuate. During Katrina, we slept on a concrete floor with 350 plus dogs and cats we had rescued.
