i love when people portray zeus stopping the crew from killing odysseus purely because he's making sure to bring the most suffering he can that way.

the crew doesn"t get vengence and odysseus doesn't get to rest - he's forced to survive and live knowing he killed those people, know that he is, in fact, a monster no better than those he fought

basically zeus makes sure to bring misery and disappointment to more people than just the women he slept with

Most animators have Eurilochus attack Odysseus, but I prefer the idea of him starring silentelly (potentially while the crew is charging). It fits the tone of his final lines better in my opinion. He doesn't sound angry, or desperate or even scared. He just sound sad. The kind of sadness one feel while reminiscing on a lost loved one. He knows Odysseus decision even before any of them say anything. He knows their fate is sealed. More importantly, he only now realizes that the dear friend he once had was long gone and is mourning him.
Aside from that, great animatic.

Oh wow. You can see how much this choice destroyed Odysseus, he couldn't even stand. The image of him floating in the rubble of his ship, clinging to life and to the memory of Penelope and his son. Incredible
