This is a lyric video for Thunder Bringer from EPIC: The Thunder Saga (Original Concept Album). epic

Lyrics 🐢🐢🐢:
Pride is a damsel in distress
Hiding away where only I can undress her
Try all she can not to confess
In the end, it′s all the same once I apply all the pressure

Thunder, bring her through the wringer
Show her I'm the judgment call
The one who makes her kingdom fall
Lightning, wield her, use and yield her
Show her what she can′t conceal
For true nature will be revealed

Tell me, Odysseus, If I were to make you choose
The lives of your men and crew or your own
Why do I think they'd lose?
Enlighten me, King of Ithaca
Since hunger was far too great
I wonder who'd take the weight of the damned
And suffer a gruesome fate to the

Thunder bringer, here to ring your
Ears until you′re deaf with fear
And spear you while your death is near
Lightning wielder, here to yield your
Time, for you have passed your prime
Sublime you for your act of crime

Choose
Choose?

Someone′s gotta die today
And you have got the final say
You?
Or your crew?

Please don't make me do this
Don′t make me do this

When does a comet become a meteor?
When does a candle become a blaze? (I can take the suffering from you)
When does a man become a monster?
When does a ripple become a tidal wave?
When does the reason become the blame? (Let me take the suffering from)
When does a man become a monster?

Captain?
I have to see her
But we'll die
I know

Thunder, bring her through the wringer
Show her I′m the judgment call
The one who makes her kingdom fall
Lightning, wield her, use and yield her
Show her what she can't conceal
For true nature will be revealed

It fits Zeus so much that he starts off the song talking about undressing a woman (Even if it’s Pride, you still get it)

I love how the song shows the full ego Zeus has, like he appears and you can instantly understand what type of character he is. I love it

This is long, bare with me a sec.
These lyrics portray the absolute state of Zeus's ego. Zeus is so drunk on his power that he believes Thunder and Lightning are enttities, beings that obey him of their own will, rather than tools that are an extension of himself. Even Pride is a being, something he can bend and control.
He commands them. "Thunder, bring her/Lightning, wield her." He gives them personalities. "Pride is a damsel in distress."
If you think about it, it would be like lifting your own hand and being proud of it for obeying you. It's disgustingly arrogant, and the way the song portrays it is brilliant.

Zeus saying "enlighten me" he's just teasing Odysseus so much.

I can’t explain it but the way Luke Holt sings “someone’s gotta die today and you have got the final say” scratches my brain.

Odysseus's voice at the end when he's talking to eurylochus always leaves me speechless. Jorgy Gorgy is so incredibly talented.

as much as Zeus is a patented womanizer, in this song he is power himself, he literally brings divine judgement for both Ody's crew (as they have done a crime against Helios) and Odysseus himself (as a "fellow" king who won't take responsability for his subjects). I love how the cracks of thunder are part of the song itself and Luke's voice is so powerful yet kinda mellifluous, just hte perfect pick for Zeus

3:10 i just find this part so funny, like, ody going nuts with his crew and zeus is in the background melting into the song

Despite this son being sung by a godly womanizer like Zeus, this song kinda really slaps.

Its funny how the part where Eurylochus is singing about the island, it has the same rythm as when Zeus was talking to Odysseus about the infant in the first song

The fact that the Suffering motif that Penelope sings was sung by the siren and not actual Penelope, hinting that this isn't actually a vision of her but Zeus mimicking her to help Odysseus make his choice

The piano in the ending sounds like it can be an undertale theme 🤣

Luke have such a voice for Zeus!

I like how Zeus added extra punch to the word "death" at 1:48. like, "and spear you while your DEATH is near"

This song makes me so happy for some reason 😭 Which is ironic bc this song should have me feeling the exact OPPOSITE of ecstatic

I hate how grape-y the lyrics sounds when he talks about Pride but at the same time i'm obsessed with this song and Luke Holt sounds so good. I have conflicting feelings

Hot take, Odysseus was right for picking himself. He told them not to kill the cow, but they did it anyways

I headcanon that during the "let me take the suffering from you" part, Zues took the form of Penelope to mock/convince Odysseus to kill his men. But only Odysseus could see it, so his crew just thought that Zues was trying to seduce Odysseus 💀

The reprise of the very first song killed me 😭

I just had to watch this after seeing it used for Sam Fennah's animation test for Amygdala book series. I love the base and the audio tones. Very heavy metal.
